It's true, we were treated like absolute shite. i had kind of forgotten until now. hmmm. might not go now that you've reminded me. Funny how these things fade ...

Don't get me wrong it's a lovely city, but with the booze ban, the police calling us "English pigs" looking for a reaction, and the ball ache that was getting into the stadium (needing your passport) etc I wouldn't rush to go back for football.

We were left in the stadium an hour and 1/2 iirc at the end that's what killed me ;/

We saw that happening a mile off, so left early - thankfully didn't miss much. Bein kept in after games is one of the only real ball aches of doing European tours!

What a complete and utter joke this competition is. Come first in your group p, draw the second best team in Italy. Fuck up the champions league royally and get a bye against some Danish team.
It's hardly a joke - look at Chelsea in CL having to play PSG. We won the group, we got drawn against Fiorentina who were second in theirs behind Basel. It's called the luck of the draw, man up ffs.

Just where has this phrase "truthers" appeared from? Man it is annoying.
A couple of stains in the Lamela thread were convinced that they were the shining light amongst a barrage of sinners who didn't think Lamela was the worst player ever to play for Spurs. Coined the phrase about themselves.

I was hoping for any of them other than Galatasary, Fenerbache, Shakhter or Fiorentina - purely because I wanted a new decent away day. But as Borks said, we were treated like shit out there last year and the booze ban and midnight was a right pain in the arse. Will have to wait for the next round and hope we go through! Although we'll probably then draw United or Liverpool...
Do you mean Augsburg or Midtjylland?

So we've drawn Leicester again in the FA Cup and now Fiorentina again in the Europa, what are the odds?

I don't think that's how it went. :D

True, they were shit but that's not really the point. They get easy draws more often than not.

It's good in a way as it keeps them in the competition meaning more games for a threadbare squad. They will try to rectify that in January I'm sure.
As Jimmy Greaves once said - the warm ball method.

Just so we're clear: we win our group comfortably and get a really tough draw against a top European side, whilst United flop out of the CL and get a near-by.

It's really quite tiresome.
Not just that, but our group was probably the toughest group I have ever seen in the EL.

It's true, however the nature of the EL (lots of games against poor opposition in the arse end of nowhere) results in good teams not playing full strength sides in a lot of games and qualifying in 2nd place, then taking the comp seriously in the knock outs.

It's a competition in serious need of redesign whichever way you look at it. When they rebranded it they actually made it worse.

Can't agree with that. Old format was bizarre - 5 teams in a group, play 2 at home and 2 away? Was just so unbalanced.
