Kane looked to me like he always does and that is slow . His brilliance lies somewhere else namely his head he has at this moment in time the brightest quickest brain in football which more than makes up for not being the quickest player .
Why is it whenever he plays for England or Spurs and the team or him does not score you get " he looks unfit " or "he looks off the pace "
or " he looks like he is carrying an injury " ?. For myself he is the most reliable and intelligent player out there at this moment in time and I would not change him for any other player.
When England played the attacking 433 kane looked anything but slow. People were asking why he didn't play like that for us.

In agreement, he isnt helping himself. I do like him but all we want as England fans is to move away from what has been done in the past. We have some great players but at the moment the team is lesser than the sum of its parts.

Even with our injuries and issues, we still have creativity but choosing to play the way we are with the players we have is not great.
This.

I was mystified at his sub after the sending off as it negated our opportunity to get back in the game by removing an attacking outlet.

At the time, I felt the sensible option was to go with 4 at the back, remove Mount for Grealish, drop Rice deeper and go 2 at the front with Kane dropping into the 10 role and Rashford as the 9, kind of a 4-1-2-2 formation allowing Rice to drop into a back 5 off the ball and allowing our wingbacks to continue to go forward, with Grealish and Kane able to create through the middle. We'd have kept solidity through the spine without sacrificing attacking capability. Instead, Southgate sacrificed an attacking outlet when we were chasing the game.

I applauded him for his adjustments in the Belgium game, but he deserves the criticism for this one. Tactically it was extremely poor.

One word
Jack Grealish.
Well two then.
Brilliant season, seems to have matured, sitting on bench for what contingency?.
We are a man down and soon after a goal down.
What don't we need?
Henderson: exactly.
Need some flair and creativity to give us hope.
and enjoyment.

Genuinely don't think I've watched an England game since the Nations League semi back in June last year where we got beaten by Holland.

We won't win anything with Southgate. When Jose is done with us in 2/3 years I'd love to see him take the job, we need that winners mentality in there who will tell these lads straight.

Rashford was so frustrating. At least 3 times he shot from ridiculous angles 30 yards out.

Southgate needs to put a functioning team out. We have good technical players in the final 3rd. If we drop the selfish pricks like Rashford then we can at least attack properly.

Southgate is obsessed with this 3 at the back and putting Walker as one of the cb's. Also seems to have a real problem with playing left footed players at left back/left wing back.

He's setup is ultra defensive even at home against average teams.

It's not even that difficult to resolve some of the issues that England have, add some more creativity to midfield. Done. I

f he insists on playing Mount, drop one of Rice or Phillips. But it's a travesty that he continues to overlook Grealish.

England going nowhere under Southgate, I would seriously prefer to get HR in.

I would understand the 3 at the back more if he played Dier as one of the 3 becoming a defensive mid like he used to at peak Poch. This then allows for more ball players in midfield like Grealish.

But playing 3 centre backs and a defensive midfielder and still not looking solid at the back is difficult to watch.

I'm sorry but given how awful Maguire has been, he shouldn't have been in the squad, let alone team yesterday.
I appreciate Dier pulled out injured, but still.

Not playing Grealish from the off was a mistake, not putting him on the pitch when chasing the game is a travesty. Both Mount and Rashford have been equally poor for their clubs recently, where as Grealish has been inspired. You cannot run a team based on previous. Southgate tries to play it too safe and still falters.

There have been some interesting picks, with Philipps for example, but you cannot bring on Henderson with 10mins left as your roll the dice move. Stank of I promised minutes to him to help fitness.

I liked Southgate when he started. He shook things up a bit and played the players in form. Now he's gone the same old tired route of picking players out of form because they cost a lot for a club team to buy.

Maguire is the leagues out of form player, lets play him.
Grealish is one of the leagues in form players, lets bench him and not even bring him on with 15 mins to go when we are 1-0 down.
Lets get one of the worlds most exciting young players on and then not bother getting the ball to him.

Bringing on Henderson as a last throw of the dice is quite mystifying. Starting with Mason Mount and whatsisface on the left is mystifying, starting with 3 CBs and 2 DMs against a bang average side is mystifying.

While we're at it, Phillips had a decent game and Kane was a bit shit. Lets play Phillips up front!

Harry Redknapp is not a bad shout actually.

I think it would suit him now and he may get them playing some better football.
No way would the fa give him the job after Fat Sam. Far too much risk.

I've seen worse suggestions. Trent was meant to be the midfield heir to Gerrard before he was suddenly starting for the first team at right back.

But it shouldn't be done unless Klopp also intends to play Trent in midfield more, which won't happen any time soon.

I think it's a pretty widely-held expectation that TAA will eventually move into midfield.

Maybe so, but it wouldn’t be wisest of moves to just stick him in there for England given he plays 100% of the to,e for Liverpool right now as a right back.

England are rapidly regressing under Southgate the football is turgid and horrendously boring to watch! England have been a struggle to watch at the best of times outside international tournaments for years but it’s now got to a point where personally I’m just not interested in watching the games anymore due to the negative Selection the continuous picking of his favourite players no matter what form they are in and negative tactics being employed.

I’ve always said I think England will struggle at the Euros under Southgate and it will be very interesting to see if he still the media darling after the Euros or if the knives are out and the calls to replace him begin.
After giving him a fat pay rise and a long contract. Isnt he the highest paid manager of a country in the world?
