As for the other bit of ITK last night, the harlequins criptic - did anyone get to the bottom of this? The only thing i could think of was any players with the same names as the rugby squad players. Only one i can think of is Lambert but that is a super tenuous connection, i just thought he could be on the list as a back up (i hope not though).

I think we decided that it related to Watford, based on the Harlequin being the former name of the shopping centre. Possible also that the ITKer got their rugby teams confused and meant Saracens as they used to play at Vicarage Road.
Still didn't resolve anything as most of Watford's squad are loanees from Udinese!

Dont see why Barca would just loan out Villa. BUT he seems to be on the last year of his contract (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/fc-barcelona/kader-vertragsende/verein_131_2014.html). maybe Villa has already made it clear to barca that he intends to see out his contract in order to get a bigger piece of the pie of his next permanent transfer. If barca has accepted that then they might agree to loan him out just so that some else cover his wages until the contract end.

If Villa has told Barca he only wants Spurs and is quite happy to stay another year and go on a free, then loaning him to free up wages and maybe a little loan fee would be better for them, maybe.

Typical DL stunt that might well work.

Get this.

A guy I know at the gym was telling me last night that his mate's brother is a mate of Adebayor's cousin and reckons he could be off to Monaco... :hungover:

(No, really)

Your mates brother and Adebayor's cousin are both off to Monaco. Rather Ade went myself*, but anyway I hope they both have a good time...

*Disclaimer - I don't really and have mixed feelings about this!

RE DAMIAO
"No club contacted me. I was there [in Europe] alone," Luigi told Radio Gaucha.
"I went to see the [Wembley] stadium well and to watch the game. But I didn't talk with anybody regarding the player."
Luigi did admit that he was expecting offers - but did not know if Tottenham would be back for him.
"It's possible that an offer happens, but I don't know if it will be from Tottenham," he said.
"The player has been called up again, will play the Confederations Cup and is wanted [by many clubs]."

Ha! This is going to be a long drawn out process.

Next info we will get is that the transfer can't be completed until after the Confederations Cup...

Oh just fcuk off and take Leandro with you. We hear the same shit time and time again. We're close then one of these w@nkers comes out with ive not spoken to anyone but there are many clubs interested blah blah fcuking blah.

All this bullshit over the years has only done one thing and thats turn people off LD, the WHL boo boys don't need much encouragement to stick it to our players (especially Strikers). I really think its best for all parties concerned if we say a big Fcuk / Thank you to Leandro and move on.

Wouldnt it be fun if Barca said to Levy we will loan you Villa on the condition you dont sell Bale to Real.
hit the nail on the head - Levy gave Barnet the go ahead to make it look like RM were on the verge then Barcelona in desparation give us Villa for a year on condition we don't see Bale to them!

Levy would be stupid just to pay up £10m for Villa.
The idea that he tries to get him on a loan first is just common sense.
Maybe he's been encouraged by the idea that Villa wants to come here? I think that's the key to ANY deal anyway...
£10m saved in transfer fee goes a long way towards covering Villa's wages, a signing on fee plus leaves us without a guranteed long term commitment if it doesn't work out. If he comes and is a success, then it also goes towards a signing on fee as a free transfer in a year's time, if indeed that suits both parties.

It's classic Levy, and it might not stick, but when you're balancing budgets, it's gotta be worth a shot.

Loan Villa? No chance - I would be stunned if that were in any way even semi feasible. There will be other takers for him so I can't see how that's even remotely likely.

But I guess that's Levy's opening move.

Next offer will be one million dollars.

Bloody hell I love the panic in here.

If you lot are like this before the window has even technically opened, who knows what you'll all be like in 3 months' time (yes there are 3 months still to go until the window closes).

I imagine a group of SCers standing on the roof of White Hart Lane on 30 August gibbering and shaking uncontrollably shouting, 'BUT THEY PROMISED US DAMIAO!!!!!!!' before sacrificing yourself to the gods of the transfer window by flinging yourself into the High Road at rush hour.

In other words people....get a fucking grip!

FFS..... I see where Levy is coming from with a loan deal, but it's going to end up with Villa going elsewhere in a permanent deal. Media and opposition fans are going to LOVE it if it all falls apart at the seams.

Sounds like the same old Levy story.

Honestly - how likely do you think this is? As much as I love Spurs, you can't seriously think this would be his attitude?
