For what it's worth I'll be incredibly surprised if we sign Villa and Leandro. I suspect there may still be other clubs waiting in the wings for Villa, and we all know what can happen with Leandro and his club.

Good to see we're at least trying early in the window though.

As I have always claimed if the fee has or can be agreed (and they don't move the goal post AGAIN) this should be completed quickly as all the ground work done.

Bennet didnt say anything bad really, he was just saying Bale is better than Neymar and would cost alot more, Bale would be honoured to be linked with Real, Bales has said that himself plenty of times not real as per se, but saying he would like to move to the continent at some point in his career. Plus you must remener it the election at Real at the moment so this type of media campaign is expected.

Barnett's quotes contain a flat out lie so I don't think it's optimistic to not take them entirely at face value.

I wouldn't... I expect one or even both of Defoe and Ade to leave, but even if only 1, Leandro and/or Villa will need to adapt and knowing AVB he will be happy to phase either in like he did with Lloris.

Some of us are taking Barnett's comments a wee bit too seriously. In that interview, Barnett was hardly going to turn round and say that Madrid are shit and the last club that Gareth would even think about playing for. Interest from Madrid is one of the greatest compliments a player can receive. Of course Barnett's gonna say Bale's interested! Relax. Until Bale himself starts giving interviews and talking about Madrid and the upcoming season, there's no need to panic.
