Have a day off Chris! Little gems like this are part of the reason people read this thread. All he is saying is it's highly dubious...like most ITK. People like a one stop shop and don't want/have the time to trawl through all the players threads/Spurs Chat.

Some of us are taking Barnett's comments a wee bit too seriously. In that interview, Barnett was hardly going to turn round and say that Madrid are shit and the last club that Gareth would even think about playing for. Interest from Madrid is one of the greatest compliments a player can receive. Of course Barnett's gonna say Bale's interested! Relax. Until Bale himself starts giving interviews and talking about Madrid and the upcoming season, there's no need to panic.

The point is that he's made it clear they will listen to offers (despite at the same time saying they aren't allowed to talk to anyone), which is all the encouragement RM need to start their charm offensive. Once your advisers start pouring into your ear the idea of what you could/should be getting elsewhere it's only a matter of time before some of that sinks in, and suddenly our happy player is not as happy as he was before.

I'm not saying this automatically leads to Bale leaving, what I'm saying is that it was an entirely needless admission to make in a very public way, going against all the positive moves Spurs are allegedly making to keep Bale where he is - and if I was Levy/Lewis having just been dealing with this man in what seemed to be a positive/productive way, I'd be pretty fucked off with such a public statement inviting further courtship.

As I have always claimed if the fee has or can be agreed (and they don't move the goal post AGAIN) this should be completed quickly as all the ground work done.

Not a chance in hell that Barca will loan him to us IMO, he's 31, so they need to get him off the books permanently now, if they are to get anything for him. Add to that, that they've just splashed out on Neymar, and probably want cash now. Not gonna happen unless DL stumps up, I'm afraid.
