I removed my earlier posts mate and deeply regret yesterday's. I don't give a squirrel's twat anymore. Easier to sit back and watch Rome burn.

there isn't any, just a news story a few days ago that Besiktas had agreed terms with him but he was waiting to see how there European ban appeal went before deciding. People are combining that with Defoe's prominence at the kit launch and interviews to assume that Defoe's probably staying and Ade's probably on the way out.

You have removed posts because you spoke your mind? No fucking way, HS. Why the fuck should you regret anything you've said, after the total shit that Paolo was spewing yesterday? I've not seen anything much at all on here today, but don't you fucking dare take a back seat & allow other twats to take the wheel.

"The timing of the actual transfer of Dimitar was completely immaterial and unconnected to our bringing in a replacement for him. We had been aware for a long period that he was likely to leave and our negotiations to get the best fee for him were independent of our work to replace both him (as we did with Roman Pavlyuchenko) and Robbie Keane, with experienced strikers.
"We failed because we were not as decisive or as successful in identifying or replacing the two strikers as early as we should have been."

"Several events clearly did not happen as we all would have wished and things could have been handled differently and better.

I'm sure people will still fight his corner and say he isn't admitting to any mistakes

I don't think too many would argue with that Mullers. Do you not think Modric going earlier, and for a much smaller amount than most of us figured, has something to do with that.I think Dembele was identified and purchased also quite quickly on that basis as well. I think Ramos was the biggest loser. Personally I would have liked to have seen Comolli replaced first and Ramos given more time. I do wonder how different things might have been had we managed to pull off the Arshavin deal. Would have given Ramos the left wide forward he was looking for, and some craft to make up for the loss of Berbatov.

I don't think many of us would argue with the premise that it is in everyone's interest to get players in as quickly as possible. But the problem is, and what many of us defend, is that we are at the stage when only players of a very high calibre can improve us. They come at a premium in terms of fees and wages. And now there are several clubs who have raised this bar to utterly unrealistic levels, making it even harder for clubs like us (and look at how Arsenal have struggled to compete at the top lately also) to source these players. So what do we do ? Play the auction waiting game in the hope of securing a top quality player or move early and take someone further down the list ? When we gamble on these types of players it gets as much criticism (Sig, Dempsey, Pienaar, Bentley, Defoe, Bent) and we end up with players now at a higher status club paying higher wages stuck on our payroll and in no hurry to get off.

The other criticism that gets defended frequently is the "Levy is a tight ****" or "Just Fucking Pay up Levy" one. Which I don't think is your gripe normally.

It's not Levy's money. He's the chairman of a company which pretty much has to operate within the trading parameters (and revenues) of that company. His job is to make sure the club/company is still here in five/ten/twenty years time not just for next year.

Personally I think Levy has made mistakes, but what I think is, there is usually honest logic behind many of those mistakes. Not some personal ego crusade to prove to the world he's a ball breaker. A chairman trying to improve the club but on a budget has to be cute sometimes, and sometimes that can backfire and has.

If you compare our dealings as a club to all others we really aren't any different to most, and play the game better than many.

I think there are an equal number who seem incapable of giving the chairman credit for the improvement of every facet of this club since taking over - including the quality of product we've been getting for some years now. To them he's just a dithering, tight fisted egomaniac.

Thing is who is there left out there who hasn't already moved, isn't tied down to a long term contract or who has said they will not leave where they are this summer.

A number of players just not the obvious ones the papers talk about. Lets hope that with Baldini at the club we are bold enough to look outside of the Premier League.

Jermaine Defoe wants Spurs to add more strikers to their team, so they can fight for the top four next season.
Defoe was the only striker scoring goals last season, and with the only other striker at White Hart Lane, Emmanuel Adebayor, linked with a move away from the club, the England International thinks manager Andre Villas-Boas need to bring in some more attackers.
“I’m a forward but I can’t be the only forward at a club. Over the years, the clubs who’ve won titles have had several strikers,” Defoe said.
“When Manchester United won the Treble in 1999 they had unbelievable forwards like Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Dwight Yorke – you need that.
“If you want to do well it’s important to have competition. It will definitely help us to bring more goals into the team.”
Defoe also shrugged off any rumours linking him with a move away from White Hart Lane, and admits that he wants to play regularly to earn a place in England’s World Cup squad.
He added: “People say ‘This club’s in for you, that club’s in for you’ but I don’t take any notice.
“If someone comes in for you, your agent will tell you. It goes over my head. It’s happened for years. All I can say is I was doing the kit thing so it looks like I’ll be wearing it for the season.
“In a World Cup year it’s important for me to play. It’s based on merit. People will look at me and ask how many goals have I scored? To score goals you’ve got to play.
“I’ve got to score a lot of goals this season to get into the squad. A top club brings in top players. When you’ve something to fight for, you get the best out of yourself.”

There is so much melodrama on here that you would think some of you are auditioning for Eastenders.
