Which is why we might take Berba on a 6 month loan and not pay the £1m transfer. Then use the £1m towards his wages.

To my mind a loan with a view to perm would be our best option. Berbatov would get a carrot to play for, we avoid the £1m fee now, and if he proves himself the £1m becomes more worth it in the summer.

Wasn't there talk that Lamela was tearing up when leaving Roma? Thought that was the talk when his transfer was announced (or shortly before) that he welled up at his last practice.
