I imagine JJ logged into his twitter account to be faced with 10,000 direct messages varying in degrees of desperation from 'When are we gonna sign a striker?' to 'I have a hostage, tell me the names of our signings or they'll be boiled in oil, TONIGHT' and thought, 'I'd better say something.'
He'll be more forthcoming when something is imminent, for sure.

Shit you got my mail to, thought I only sent it to JJ, must have sent to all, yes am going crackers here :)

Maybe if it comes to it we will have to stand outside WHL at the West Brom game, with sandwich board pleading for a striker

That's such BS and I'm fed up of hearing it as an excuse to be honest. It might work for a window or two but for 7/8 windows, really?

Every club has budgets, you work the budget and you get the best players relative to what you can afford.

Its the same for spurs as it other team in the world.

I accept that some clubs with oil rich owners bugger the market but the rest of the clubs including us have to do what we do, as opposed to starting a season ill prepared, at best.

I don't quite get your point? Are you saying that we've had 7/8 straight transfer windows of negative business?

What do people realistically think our net spend will be this transfer window? Thus far, we have the following:

Ins: Vertonghnen (Approx. 10 Million)
Sigurdsson (Approx. 8 Million)

Outs: Krancjar: (Approx. 5 Million)
Pienaar (Approx. 4.5 Million)
Corluka (Approx. 5 Million)

That gives us a net spend of around 3.5 million pounds thus far. I have to imagine that Villas Boas thought he would have slightly more money to improve the team, especially considering the Grand Canyon sized gap in our strikeforce and the prospect of Modric leaving.

The key question right now is whether the 30 million or so we get for Luka will be given to AVB to bring in players he wants. Or will we just look to sign Adebayor and be done with our business, having improved the clubs financial condition.

Seems to be more what is reported and revealed. Which puts the net spend as... ooh... nothing.

Look how that worked out, Mr Levy...

Wouldn't surprise me if we accepted offers north of £10million a piece for Hudd and Dawson, that would go along way with the Modric sale to reshape the forward line.

On another note a Lancaster Bomber just flew over head, how very British! :)

You are absolutely right. I should have put the caveat that those numbers are just speculation from media outlets. We do not know for certain, but they certainly are reasonable estimates. Knowing Levy, we probably even got more in return for out outgoings than has been reported.

Cameron Lancaster on the way to Newcastle then? Thought he was injured.
