So after a work imposed exile for me on SC nearly a month ago, I come back to....... exactly the same situation as to when I left.

ive already condemned myself to a season of frustration, with squad we have at the minute. I cant see how we are going to cope with the season, with defoe and adebayor(the only striker we will sign), no modric replacement, and no cover for bale and lennon.

Agreed. I feel sorry for AVB. I don't think he knew what he was letting himself in for when he accepted the job. Probably expected Levy to get him at least one striker by now. As it is he is going into the first game of the season with one hand tied behind his back.

Agreed. If we don't get the players we need and the shit does hit the fan, there's only one man to blame and it ain't AVB.

I have faith that DL is no mug.

A little egocentric with trying to get the 'best possible' deal all the time maybe, but not a mug.

juts a bit underwhelmed that it looks like a rush to the deadline day again!

I think it will be something of a transitional season even if we do bring in the type and quantity of players you would think we need to move forward. I think overhauling our system and style of play will lead to a drop off in general results performance and we will be off pace of the champions league places this year. I'd see it as a step back to take 2-3 steps forward in the coming years.

If however we/AVB are forced to do this with a weaker squad than last year too, well it will probably just be a step back for now and the steps forward will come slower as we labour toward signing the players we need.

That being said I still think come the end of the window we will have sold Modric and signed a replacement, brought in Ade and another striker and signed either a new keeper or a wing cover player.......I don't even want to think about how angry I will be if we have failed to do so.

But Ryan did call it weeks ago that RVP according to Redknapp since January, was goign to Utd this summer.

I believe Graham Hunter mentioned similar last night on Sky Sports? That RVP has been in discussions with Utd from January?

Morning all, I've got to say I'm really not happy with Mattspur17's itk yesterday. He states some of the players are not convinced with AVB, with his formation, tactics, training methods etc...well if you don't like it you can fuck off. It's quite simple imo, work together, share the same vison,belief,goal & success is possible nah gauranteed. The thought of some whisperings behind the new Boss'es back pisses me off.Sort it out you overpaid premadonna's ffs.
