He's an inspiration to other players, a model professional who is able to spread self-belief and motivate the whole squad.

Yep, Rafael's fantastic. Beckham's a smarmy adulterous queynte though.

Why not? Beckham sells shirts. Too whom, I don't know. It sure as fuck won't be to the Asian market like Levy seems to think, as they have moved on to CR7 and Messi. I bet we sell more Bale shirts than Beckham. People want new and shiney, not old and forgotten.

I'd buy a Beckham shirt, purely because he the most famous footballer in the world and probably will be of my lifetime.

I don't care how old he is, I'd be proud to have his name of the back of my great clubs shirt. He's been a great inspiration for many people in this country, young and old and is one of the best role models this country has to offer. He gives a lot back to football, kids, charities and all that and will continue too for a long time after he's retired.

We've never had another player like that, I think it's magnificent that we will be part of his history, albeit a small one.

Why the fuckery ding dong would we want the 36 yo poodle for two years ? I don't want him for two months let alone 2 years.

What I horrible thought.

What you horrible thought?

Real Madrid

Manchester United

AC Milan

Why do people automatically exclude someone who has a '3' at the start of their age; the guy is fit as as a fiddle and a genius at set pieces and corners and will raise the profile of the club ten-fold internationally.

He also has the most marketable face on the planet.

This is a big move from the club in financial and performance terms.

No massive objection to the rest of your post, but the bit I've bolded is pure cobblers I'm afraid.

spot on....

the delay is more to do with the length of the deal & not his wages btw people...

i think some of you will be very surprised at the deal & even more surprised at his fitness & performance levels....the guys fit as a fiddle!, never ever relied on pace & doesnt have to beat a man to put a ball on a 6 pence!

To be fair, I have never seen him beat a defender.

Superb footballing brain, one step ahead still, massive asset. Best PASSER of a ball after Hoddle.

ive heard a complete purchase from la galaxy.....2 year contract!

Hope that is the case, but I seriously doubt we'd be able to pay the full wages of a David Beckham contract.
