hopefully the crows feet round beckams eyes haven't spread to his tootsies. i swear he has aged 10 years in the last 2. he looks really old now, like one of the old gits from harry enfield. so old in fact, he got a lifetime achievement award from the beeb.

it's a shame the expression isn't 'cockerals feet' to describe lines round your peepers, at least that would be apt for us yids.

I just hope that becks isn't our version of the geriatric pires!

I think it's a bad move ... you could see that his legs had gone when he last played for England. He's had a bad injury since then also.

Were a high tempo counter attacking team ... with the assumption that becks will dislodge lennon and with bale's injury ... we'll lose our best weapon.

Stratford bit is one of the saddest items of news I've heard in a long time.

Dragon's English remains pretty rudimentary, doesn't it?

So Levy likes Suarez? Has he turned scout?

I don't see how bulldozing the OS and building the WHL plan there will be cheaper than bulldozing the area around the existing ground, which has mostly been done. Hopefully Lord Coe's view will prevail anyway.

Agreed.

I just hope the OPLC give it to West Ham. Anyway, I've put that in the new stadium thread, so I guess this can continue to be discussed there, leaving this section to discuss transfer related ITK.

The fact we'd still get the NLD albeit in a different place softens the blow. And hopefully lower seat prices?

I'm no expert, but I would imagine it's to do with the staged destruction of the existing stadium for the NDP compared with simple bulldozing at Stratford.

What I thinking is maybe Levy is now getting scouts reporting to him, as opposed to Comolli, ie Levy has had to take up some of the DOF slack. So maybe Redknapp/Levy discuss a list of possibles, is saying "get me Fabiano" and Levy is saying "but Saurez is just as good and makes more sense financially".

Let's be honest, that's not a bad thing, I think Redknapp is a decent judge of a player, but the financial scenario will always have to be a consideration for us. Personally I'm with Levy on this one - if it's true - Saurez for me all day long.

I guess Levy likes Suarez as he's young and fits with his preferred policy?

The OS is a temporary structure in part so fairly easy to dismantle whereas there is still CP to do at Tottenham and also WHL to demolish before the NPD is complete, so hardly a cleared site?! Anyhow will discuss this in chat.

If moving to Stratford (shudder) saves us the best part of £200million then I can just about accept that. Especially if it means the difference goes towards the transfer budget.

And I'm all for getting Suarez in. Just please don't leave it until 11:55 Jan 31st for it to happen though.

I'm pretty sure that's what happens too, but this sort of thing gives rise to the myth of the 'Levy signing' that we've had with the two Kyles, Sandro and VdV. The ITK we had from Peanut is that Harry wasn't sure about Suarez but was swayed by Broomfield's evaluation, which I guess is what you pay a chief scout for.

Apart from the fact that he's a Grade A twat, Suarez over Fabiano for me too, both on footballing and financial grounds.

and if we sell bentley, maybe the beckham deal is just to tie us over till the end of the season when we can seriously look for someone better for RM?

God I really want Keane out the door, I love the guy for all he has done for the club and i'll consider him one of our great players in his day, but he really needs to move on. I think Fulham would be a great move for him. They really need goals as we saw in our game against them, and I think he would strike up a good partnership with Zomora when he returns. If he wants to stay in London then its got to be Fulham over West Ham.

I just really want us to move for a striker. I'm delighted to hear another ITK linking us to Suarez. He's the best possible acquisition up front in this window. He's the right age and he'll be joining other players who are still young and improving. I think he would fit right in here. Plus he's not on huge wages. Not to mention his valuation has come down to a more respectful one. It just makes sense.

Not too sure on the Stadium news. I think i'll wait for the outcome before going into that.
