I think we need to factor the situation into our thinking regarding price. Like, is King worth 20m? Maybe. Is he worth 20m when you're looking at playing 10 matches in 20 days because of cup and europa matches in Sept? I think he's worth splashing that little extra to keep Harry fresh. Though maybe JM thinks Troy can fill some of those spots. Dunno. My point being, the compressed nature of our schedule this year is going to highlight our need for legitimate depth and could be a reason to not play this out through October.

Yeah there's a lot of variables, if paying a bit extra means Kane doesn't get injured for 4 months then yeah it's worth in on that variable alone. However when you factor in that it could be the difference between us also being able to add a LB or an AM then maybe it's worth driving the price down.

Dragon:

Today king is flavor of the month on the strikers front and we are In talks , it has literally gone from ings to woods to king in a week

bournmouth set what most would consider a reasonable amount for a striker in modern terms despite kings contract length, price Under 20 and levy then offered a little over half their valuation lol

I wish we would make our minds up, I know it can be difficult but we have so many fixtures to start the season with & can’t afford to not rest our attackers in the cup games.

My Bournemouth supporting mates would much rather lose Wilson than King. He is much more versatile being able to do the target man thing, a number 10 or a winger.

A player at Kings level with 10 months remaining on his contract shouldn’t be valued at £20m! Even £15m is great value for Bournemouth.

Dragon1 (again) talking about our transfers and budget
I honestly don’t think they’ll have Much of a net spend this window , I think rose , foyth and aurrier will bring in 40 , king will come for around 10 which takes us to 27 And will use the rest for the left back

So offering half their asking price wasn't so far out?

We really must be broke if we cant put down 20 large on King, bargain in this day and age

I simply don't understand this logic, Eriksen was in a similar situation and on his day is within touching distance of world class, a few levels above King and he only went for what was it 18 million? So why on earth would be bang down 20 million on King. It's absurd.

I just don’t get how LB is such a large priority and an AM/CM isn’t.

This is bang on when you consider what we got for Eriksen. A player on a different level.
Edit- @wrd beat me to this point.
