Just an update on outgoings: club actively looking to sell Foyth, Rose, Aurier. Club would be willing to accept good enough offers for Lamela, Sissoko and Gazza but the club aren’t pushing those three out. The last I heard about Ndombele was just after the PL restart when I was told that Jose had an honest discussion with TN about his attitude and it was believed that things would be going up from there. Having heard what I heard I was expecting TN to be playing more after the restart but it never happened which confuses me a little. Possibly TN didn’t improve as was suggested in their convo. With regards to incomings, a bit like the RB situation with Doherty, we are in talks with several STs but a couple are further down the line than others (only one will go through though). One of the STs (Jose’s main man) is pissing our transfer committee off as we are kind of a fall back option to him. We are also looking at three CBs, one of which is looking far more feasible than the other 2. Can’t mention any names at the moment unfortunately but hopefully will be updates soon.

Thanks for the update! Seems pretty clear who the priority striker is based on reports and info we've had over the window, which makes sense as to why all the other names (King, Wood, Wilson etc.) that would all be attainable haven't been snapped up yet. Will be interesting to see which ends up happening!

While not good news that our main striker target is pissing the transfer comitee off, the fact that he sees us as a fallback option could mean that he's a higher calibre than we've been expecting.
Thanks for the info and I'm remaining calmly positive about the window.

Thank you for the update.

The striker situation is a little worrying as we have 8 fixtures in 16 days from 17th Sept, hence urgently need a rotation option. Can't afford for Kane to get crocked early and Son is needed for the big fixtures as well.

Half of the 8 matches are Carabao Cup/Europa League so plenty of minutes for the back up. IMO this is one deal which I don't think we can wait on.

Unfortunately I think this will go down to the wire, history shows us we struggle when it comes to providing cover for Kane, even when it’s glaringly obviously.

In this case we have to sell before we buy, so it’s a waiting game essentially, which we cannot afford to do as you mentioned, with the fixture pile up.

I wonder if we can buy more incomings without outgoings first? Especially the first choice striker Jose wants.

Shifting players is the name of the game for most clubs so not sure where all these buyers will be for unwanted players. Just look at the ones we want to get rid of, then look at the size of squads like Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea who have similarly got lots of dead wood.

I appreciate the update about Actively looking to sell, and I understand why Rose and Serge are there. But I can't help but wonder if Foyth is just an unfortunate victim of circumstance, re nonHG or is it Attitude, Ability, or a combination.

I think seeing us as a fallback option and pissing off the transfer committee (which has been after him for awhile) is a name we all know: Milik.

Bit of a domino effect at play here: Napoli buys Osimhen to replace him, Milik surplus to requirements:
Juve wanted Milik but with Pirlo hire seems they are looking elsewhere, specifically at Dzeko and Suarez. Speaking of Dzeko, his club Roma will look into Milik if Dzeko goes and have been negotiating with Napoli already. However, if Dzeko doesn't go, I don't think Roma will buy Milik. Oddly enough there are reports of Suarez agreeing a deal with Juventus which would probably throw a huge complication into the works. So, who knows.

Think Foyth is just unfortunate, he's just not a Jose type. I think his attitude and ability are good (didn't he postpone his honeymoon to start pre-season early last year?), just that he's young, a little prone to errors and is a player we can live without, especially given the squad size, homegrown quota and need for cash.

I’ve never seen him as a Jose type defender. Lovely footballer, but too flakey defensively.

Possibly, but King seems to be swayed by advances elsewhere also, so it’s not absolutely cut and dried, or have I been missing some info?

speculating on who the unnamed player is seems like a good way to get the thread locked. Tread carefully men, A&C gives no quarter
