I don't know if it has been shared but there is a quote from the Zenit president today saying Witsel's buyout is 100m Euros.

Surely we can cross him off then?!
Pschaw! With the exchange rate at the moment that's only about £70m.
Can't see an issue there!

Mind you, Uncle Joe was at the match on Saturday. Perhaps he was there to load up the wheelbarrow.

*creates second account to rate own post optimistic*

So, Pato as a potential plan B to Berahino. Maybe its the romantic (or the idiot) in me but I'm more excited by the prospect of Pato.
Old Pato - yes please!
Broken Pato - worth it if we can get him cheap!

Haven't seen ITK on him though. Am I wrong?

Witsel would be a great buy. I had a feeling that Levy would be looking to exploit the new foreign player quotas introduced in Russia recently.

So as it stands, the 'best' of the ITK is suggesting Berahino and Witsel.

That would make for an excellent window but we all know how it usually pans out………It isn't unusual for us to get the collective horn on the last day or two only for the transfer window to close her legs and say get off big boy.
But the big question is whether you will join the BSODL if that happens...?

Still Berahino for me over Pato.

I know the latter is a bigger name but way more question marks over him, less versatility and older.

Austin is doable for us but is way down the list and in my humble opinion would be a panic buy and just for the reasons mentioned around Harry burning out

Come to think of it, IIRC we had representatives in St. Petersburg a few weeks back, but I brushed it off bc I really couldn't think of who we would realistically sign from Russia (in general). Now I can't help but feel a sensational tingle that we may actually know what we are doing, and if so we are boding well for the future! TO HOPE ? :wideyed:

EDIT: This was about a week or so after The Telegraph reported we had a delegation in Germany

Not so much the age, still only 25 - but injuries have been a problem IIRC. But totally agree.

Berahino all day long for me.

Why is no one mentioning that zenit have said they want 100 million euros for witsel? Seems pretty clear that we won't get him if that's the casr

If you have read this thread and the Witzel thread you will have seen it has been mentioned about a dozen times already :(
