So what we CAN gather is that the next 20-odd hours are going to be manic. Torres going if Liverpool bidding 30+ for Carroll?
I'm not hopeful of our position in the Market. If we sign a striker I'll be quite surprised.

I can see the logic, but it's flawed surely. The AM chairman only has to pick up a phone and call Chelsea and say Spurs have bid £40m, fancy going £44m ? It will take 10 minutes.

I guess part of the plan is to hope they're well on the way to securing other targets by this time. WHich in the case of Chelsea is definitely true

theres more of a chance though that chelsea or real will be unprepared if its out of the blue like now seeing as one is getting Torres and the other has got adebayor on loan with benzema finding form and higuain coming back soon from injury

Not knocking POTL, and he does have a good track record - but saying he was on the money for recently saying it would all be last minute isn't saying much. Especially as I don't think he said it much earlier than Jan 25th/26th.
