why are some spurs fans negative about this? Levy is hardly going to be bidding 38million for a publicity stunt. Yes its stupid we are leaving it until the last minutebut Levy loves to work like this for some reason and if it means us getting in a top quality striker do you really care? I'm not saying we will get Aguero but i find it incredibly exciting we are trying for players of this qaulity and Value.

Exactly, I was going to say the exact same thing. Levy wouldnt act so carelessly with the money the club has. If we had offered this sort of cash a few weeks ago we would have been easily priced out from other interest from clubs who can afford to spend money in such a stupid manner.

im sure levy doesn't think to himself i know ill go out on the 31st january with a massive wedge to snare a striker. i have know doubt this is totally pre planned. for reasons un beknown to me. levy is a master at securing deals.

So.......our only hold up is the tax on buying one of these spanish players, sell Pav and there we go problem sorted.

Of course the players would have to agree to come here but if we dont get this striker because of the tax and it means we keep some of the deadwood, I'll be pretty disappointed.

I'm not bemoaning his will to sign a striker. I'm questioning if he really thinks such a bid will come off.

First of all, Chelsea had arguably a larger bid rejected last week.

Secondly, Aguero can see the clubs sniffing around him. He loves Atletico, and we musn't forget, no one looks at Spurs as fondly as we do. I'd take Spurs for 15k a week over 200k a week at City. But he's not a yid. So why on earth would he want to join us when he knows Chelsea and Real Madrid are after him?

Well.... today's the day!

My money is still on no one coming in. Or at best someone not very awe-inspiring coming in.

Having slept on what was our worst performance on the pitch in about 3 years... I got to thinking this morning that our squad is good anyway, sure we're not great up front but we've got enough about us to win more than we lose, definitely. 4th might just be out of our reach though... unless we can do serious business by 11pm!
