A lot of talk about Chelsea still being an option for Modric but do they need him?

They have Mata and now Marin where would they fit Luka

should JJ's info imply that Levy is somewhere else we should be interested in?
What was the answer to the update 14 POTL cryptic? (I haven't been on much lately).

Pregnant?

And I think post 14 relates to Vertonghen, although I wouldn't bet my house on it as POTL rarely makes sense these days (maybe he tripped and hurt his head o_O )

If it goes through then hopefully sloping out the Gents at the back of the Matthew Harding Stand.....;)

Can't see him going there TBH, unless its big big bucks

Neither of whom are central midfielders. I expect that Mata and Marin will be either side of their striker (whoever that turns out to be) and Modric would take the place of Fat Frank in their midfield 3. We won't let him go there though, so it's all beside the point.

As part of the 2 behind the 3 - 1?

As the middle of the 3 with Mata & Marin out wide (GFTS)?

As part of a rotated squad?

All, admittedly, revolutionary, but you never know. ;)

Imagine Marin on the left, Mata on the right, and a centre of Modric, Ramires and Essien, with either Torres or Drogba up front. That front six would be scary.

Then again, put either Drogba or Torres up front for us and it'd be even better. Sigh.

It's the start of the Torres to Spurs rumour...

You read it here first kids! ;)

It would, but the saving grace would be that they would have little to no cover.

The scary thing is, they would :(

The other of Drogba/ Torres in the middle, or even Lukaka, Kalou Sturridge and Malouda for the 2 wide positions, and the Mikel, Lampard and Mereiles in the middle.

Maybe Jenas will finally blossom for us...

Sturridge will be wanting to leave ASAP, if he was being used as cover

I think he meant defensive cover from the midfield...

I'm hoping that the continuing speculation around Harry either going to Chelsea or Liverpool isn't getting in the way of any of our transfer business. Theoretically it shouldn't, but if the players have spoken to him etc then they may think again if he leaves/looks like leaving.

Pretty unlikely because I think Levy is the main man with the transfers but I'd like to see Liverpool and Chelsea appoint someone soon (even if it is Redknapp) so we can have a bit of certainty.

I just meant cover generally as none of those replacements are anywhere near as good as the first choices (apart from Marin being the weak link of the starting 6).

oh.

Essien and Ramires is more then enough solidity when the players in front are that good on the ball. In fact, just one of those is enough, but Ramires would be more box to box anyway while Essien sat.

If Redknapp left us for Liverpool I would laugh so hard someone would need to call me an ambulance.

The scourers can't get anyone interested in that role at all. Even better is reading Rick Parry saying that CL is not a goal for Liverpool it is a minimum requirement, arrogant cockend.

I wonder whether Danny has ever brought home any bacon in his life, it might be a bit awkward for him to do so.
