Without any shadow of a doubt, Saturday has put us in a completely different situation to the one we were in on 83 minutes. Financially, player pull, keeping players etc. However, this is going to be a big summer for us, we will push forward with our plans and we will not let this affect our recrutiment policy this summer. Read the cryptic carefully from post 1, it should be clear and many of you have called it bang on. Without worrying you all, and anyone claiming ITK on Luka already is wrong as he is on a short break- this may be the summer that we struggle to hold onto him, if a deal is to be done, would much rather one was done for a foreign team- Real Madrid is a good option to do a player/cash deal with their large squad.​

Dont panic, good news is on the horizon.

Dragon is correct about Levy and Pleat. He still seeks his views out about potential signings. Him and God knows how many others. Danny Boy really does his homework and speaks to loads before going in. Apparently our targets are heavily infuenced by a"team" of statisticians who pour over numbers-someone mentioned Remi having scored more headers from set pieces than any other forward in Europe? Well that's the sort of info they'd know. Arry just says where we need strengthening and then gets asked if he has any objections to whoever the team put forward as the solution. He might throw a few names in the hat himself but generally it's down to the team. It certainly isn't based on scouting someone for 2 games. He has no input on the financial aspects of any deal other than when the solution being put forward might have an impact on other acquisitions. Apparently under our current business model we have around £20m to spend each year but that includes any increases in salary either from new signings or contract renegotiations. Needless to say we do HP on every deal. VDV £8m was written over 4 yrs apparently. But their wages impact on that £20m for the duration of their stay with us unless we offload players. So someone new on £70,000pw basically takes £3.6m out of our £20m every year. Obviousl ya CL foray increases the coffers but as that can't be "guaranteed" it's not included for wages planning. Danny Boy v p*ssed off with 'Arry who virtually went "missing" from his court case till Woy got appointed. Words were said. Team meeting of players did happen saying that no meaningful tactics were being worked on for the period etc etc. Basically it was just them and the coaching staff.

Club not happy with Lennon's attitude either. Plus will prob let Gallas or King go. Dilemma as Gallas considered fitter and more effective, but they understand the loyalty King has shown (and us to him as well IMHO) and may have to find a slot for him on the staff.

Our Finance guy thinks L'pool's financial model sucks.

The £50m debt we have is for the purchase of stadium land. But we've done a deal with Sainsbury who'll give us either £50m or £70m. Can't remember, but know both figures were mentioned. Anyway they're going to build the biggest Sainsbury's in the country on there and that will start v soon, as will the hotel. Stadium won't start till a £150m naming rights deal is done which hasn't been yet. Oh and there's something happening down White Hart Lane relating to something being done with the council and involving parking.
That's it. Don't bother asking for clarification as I honestly don't know any more than what I've written and it'd only be my conjecture you'd get back based on b*ollock all knowledge.

Oh Levy's mum's not well so prayers for her and wife still unable to travel back from the States because of her medical condition, hence why he's over there so much. Which al things considered, makes you realise what a great Chairman we have IMHO.
Oh and Joe Davis been to see us more than ever this yr-about 5 times. But he's a business man not a benefactor, as the accounts will attest.

Interesting that there is no ITK on the Levy/UEFA situation, contrary to the Journalists info.

I would have thought Levy would be all over this considering the financial implications or maybe he's just playing his cards close to his chest for now.

Agree. Rules are rules. In any case as I suggested yesterday, qualifying for one Champions League has never been the target. Levy is developing a new training ground, planning an iconic state of the art stadium to be the envy of everyone not for a mere taste of the glory. He wants us to swim in glory so the target for the playing squad will be to improve and push hard again next year and the following years. One failed attempt isn't going to affect that too much.

Yes the assistant chief editor of Rafael (Rafa's new magazine) says that talks with Levy went well and they are close to agreeing a deal. A new date has been set to resume talks. Vertonghen has also come out saying that there is no point for Ajax waiting for other offers, I only want to play for Spurs.

I for one am glad there is no ITK and no sounds of it happening. We have to keep our pride and we have to accept that we shouldn't have been relying on Bayern. 3rd was ours and we fluffed it. Twice!

Europa League this season seems to be very prestigious too with a quality list of teams in it.
