Isn't Eriksen much more advanced positionally than Modric? In the Ajax games that I've watched in recent times I've not witnessed hm playing the deep lying role that Luka does for us. Still though, couldn't say no. He's a talent.

Brilliant replacement for Modric, I would be very happy but think it's unlikely.

Harry probably doesn't want Doumbia because he never played at West Ham or Portsmouth.

if you sign eriksen then where does vdv play? he won't be signing though so bit of a pointless question.

It's Seydou Doumbia isn't it? Striker for CSKA Moscow, used to play for Young Boys.

I'm sure CSKA Moscow bought him for £6m back in 2010.

If anyone knows anything about the formation we play then you will know that Doumbia will not fit into it.

He is very similar to Defoe.

While I know you were joking on this one, this does seem to show the tension between the 2 people.

DL on one hand is talking to his statisticians and scouts and is basically saying, according to these stats, the business deal and the reports I'm getting, we should go for this one.

HR on the other hand only wants players he knows or players that are not going to cost a lot of money as he wants to protect his image so he is not seen as a failure in the transfer market.

I find this completely frustrating and is one of the reasons why I wouldn't be displeased to see Redknapp go. We need to have someone who is confident in this aspect and sign players that will fit in to the Spurs mould, will excite the fans, will represent a good business deal and will work together with the other players in the team. I'm worried that Harry is not that man.

Vertonghen seems like a DL purchase to me and not a HR. I have to say, without DL as our chairman, I would be afraid to see what state this club would have been in. Let's hope his influence can rub off more in the transfer market this year.

Doumbia came out and said the other week that he will only sign for a team that is in the CL every year, out of the big 3 leagues. That doesn't leave many clubs, so he may not get his wish, but you'd have to assume that he would be unlikely to sign for a club that hasn't made it at all for next season.

Spot on. He plays in the attacking midfield or VDV position. Never as a cm in the middle row.

Well it is easy to say bolded when every time we go after an expensive or young player it is deemed a "Levy" signing.

Rossi, Aguero, Hazard, Remy, Rafa, Fabiano, Dzeko, Sandro, Vert, etc etc all Levy

Gallas, Pienarr, Saha,, etc all Redknapp.

Seems quite fair.

Maybe we are getting Sven to replace Harry:eek:o_O:confused:

Anyway, every morning I hope to wake up and load up SC to see the place going mental because we've signed someone! I really hope we don't drag our transfers out, we need some good news.

Well it kind of does seem fair to me for one reason only. Your signings attributed to Harry have all been raved about in interviews by him. The Levy attributed signings HR seems to know nothing about. "I've heard of him and he's done ok" to "Nope, never heard of him" to (in a dismissive way)"yeah, he's a good player".

Harry has history on this though, but, this is just the feeling I get and I may well be completely wrong!
