Can a reliable itk please explain what on earth is going on with this deal?

I have heard he was signing on saturday or there would be some developments nothing came of it also heard that the deal was very close which iv heard for the last week still nothing?

I have no idea who has genuine info since nothing iv heard has happened.

This isnt a rant but im surely not the only person frustrated with this as all we keep hearing is the deal is close.

On spurs odyssey the only 2 reliable itks were Archie & Roger Morgan can someone mention names who have genuine info?

Transfer dealings are a fluid process, important to bear that in mind. Things can change very quickly and info that is reported at the time can be spot on but within a few hours any situation can progress/regress.

Patience my old china!

In fairness, JJ has never said it was 'done', and tbh, thats enough to tell me it ain't done yet.
I think JJ pretty much hinted nobody knows whats happening at the club and that only Levy knows the plans for the summer concerning the summer

Maybe Levy & Eales just went twos on a ropey old brass with a slightly messy lady-garden?
Hence the "bacon boys" quip :)

You need to think about what ITK really is. It's information that's been passed on (sometimes through several levels) so by the time we hear it things can/will have developed.

It sounds as if we've reached an agreement with the player but we're still hammering the finances out with the club. That translates as both "almost done"if the sources of the information thinks the hurdle was the player and that the financials are all straight forward and it's just a matter of flying out there but equally it could also translate as "some way off" if the information comes from someone who thinks the financial stuff might take a while.

AMSTERDAM - Tottenham Hotspur has yet to reach an agreement with Ajax over the transfer of Jan Vertonghen. But the chairman of the London club, Daniel Levy, after a day or negotiate hopeful returned to England

. Levy came in the morning at ten o'clock at Schiphol airport and traveled to the ArenA, where he was welcomed by the director Jeroen Slop and Henri van der Aat. With the leadership of the Amsterdam club has long been talked about constructions to reach an agreement on the ransom for another year continuous contract of the Ajax captain to come.

For Vertonghen to wait and see if both parties can find each other. Between supply and demand is still a substantial difference. Ajax only knows that the other parties no longer have to wait. For the champion would be beneficial if another club in the struggle for mixing the footballer of the year because the price would increase. But Vertonghen wants only to the club of Rafael van der Vaart and wants the board of Ajax makes the deal in order.

FFS! That's typical. We're waiting on a transfer here and Daniel Levy's halfway through a game of sodding Hide N Seek.

He'll be there fucking days. The Amsterdam ArenA's massive.

Marseille are probably sat waiting to sign the contract to sell us Remy but can't because Levy is insisting everybody has a round of Musical Statues.

If Levy has been pictured with Vertonghen's agent the assumption (I know you should never assume) from that would be that we have agreed terms in principal with the player dependent on whether the clubs can agree an overall price and how the payment of said price will be structured.

Levy is a gangster. Schmoozing his way around Europe breaking the balls of every club's chairman who dares to get into a cock fight with him.

He must have been an Arab in a past life.

Isn't Eriksen much more advanced positionally than Modric? In the Ajax games that I've watched in recent times I've not witnessed hm playing the deep lying role that Luka does for us. Still though, couldn't say no. He's a talent.

Yea I thought he played in an advanced right position but I really don't know for sure.

Or, given Back of (Bacon) is also a well-known phrase , perhaps they have returned

Or

They are telling porkies

Both of which seem closer than we are going to sign Eriksen. Where would we play an ex-England manager anyway ?

I think we should collectively thank POTL for hours of fun on this cryptic

Mystery ITK

Remy - Were trying - We are playing stupid on this one. It's as if were kicking his tyres and thinking about it, but want a few quid off the price, which OM will not agree to.
Leandro - No - Was decided a while ago we won't sign him. We kind of p*ssed Inter off with our penny pinching.
Duombia - Levy wants this guy, Harry isn't so interested, it would seem.
Dembele - This all depends on the future of little Luka.
Vertonghen - I don't really need to say much about this, he wants us, we want him.

What would be the point of making up a cryptic clue about a player the whole world and his wife knows wants to come to spurs? Every paper from here to Venezuela is reporting that we are in negiotiations with Vertonghen.

In my mind, I feel POTL is hinting at an other player.
