  1. And he is dismissing those rumours that the Gooners are set to steal a march. Whether you want Schneiderlin or not that would have still been horrendous!

@Myiddo obviously his agent drumming up a better price #slippery

Confused....why would MS's agent try to drum up the price....does he not want his client to leave. Drumming up the price would only drag this out further surely?

The agent will most likely get a cut of the transfer fee. Probably 5%ish. So the bigger the fee, the better holiday he and his family can have next year.

That's an agents job at the end of the day, I'm sure the agent will be pivotal to getting this deal across the line, does anyone know the agent in question and whether we've had dealings with him?

5% of 20m? You can get quite a few holidays for a million quid?

It's amazing what Doris the tea lady aka Jetset picks up.

Good news if Verts does sign a new deal. Does feel unusual that for once in a pre-season everyone seems mildly positive, no-one is striking to go to Real Madrid or Man Utd, the manager hasn't fallen out with Levy or the technical director and we've signed a couple of players for positions that needed strengthening.

I'm worried.

His Client wants to leave. He as an agent wants to make money.

Good news. If we can have the Jan of 2012/13 as opposed to last season it will be a real boost.

I do hope though that we are looking at another quality CB to partner him and compete with Kaboul (who may never be the same player), rather than pin all our hopes on Chriches and Dier

I play centre half myself and have a season ticket at the lane so I'm always giving extra attention to the way our defenders play. I'm not sure fitness is completely the problem with Kaboul at the moment. When he played along side Ledley, Ledders would be constantly in his ear and telling him where to be and always had control of the line; Kaboul looked like a quality player!

The problem with him lately is that he doesn't even turn his head and look across at his fellow centre half, let alone talk to them. This is something that they're all guilty off, Jan and Kaboul played liked they hated each other last year and our defensive line was horrendous as a result. I'm hoping if Jan signs a new deal and is given a leadership role then he'll start to communicate better at the back. Then I think we'll see a much better kaboul or chiriches...whoever plays along side.

Good post.No doubt partnerships are key in a football team and nowhere more so than in the centre of defence. I think playing with Ledley helped most defenders. Dawson certainly always looked more commanding when he had Ledley organising back there.

I would rather keep Sandro and sell one of Paulinho/Dembele. I imagine that despite a stinker of a world cup, Paulinho would still command the bigger fee.

that's because our only class player signed a new deal.... the others are potentially class or had awful seasons.
we do well this season and expect them to kick up a fuss!
