Although ENIC have put a small amount of cash in to Spurs over the last three or four years, the majority of the cash spent on the new training ground and new stadiumm has come out of our football-generated cash flow. Now this spending doesn't count for FFP rules, so in effect we've been running a big FFP profit. That means that Mr Lewis could give us a fair wedge of cash without infringing the FFP rules. Wouldn't that be nice...

Agreed! I have just noticed the typo (omitted word) in what you quoted. It should have read "As we have NOT spent much over the last couple of years a bit of extra cash for the fees could still leave us with the FFP limits"

Note to self double check what you have twyped bfeore pstoing ryple!

EDIT: I suppose I'll now get a whotsit for mi spolling! LOL! And NO I'm NOT asking for one!

I was wondering that myself. Do the FFP rules include income from TV? If so we may be getting a bit of a boost soon.
Yes TV money does count - basically anything that is generated from playing - so gate, TV, sponsorship, merchandising. What doesn't cont is money pored in by benefactors etc

I don't see why pep wouldn't consider us. We'r a champions league calibre club without the pressure of champions league football. 3 or four quality additions and we'r favourites for champions league football next season. Pep would have the europa league n the cups to test upcoming talent. He would have a relatively pressure free first season, and would have the squad the way he wants in for season two to attack for silverware. He would also eliminate any issues of players looking to leave. We already play the style he promotes so i can see him considering the job.

That latest ITK from Jacob really is ridiculous. 'OK kids get ready!' - Yawn. Its not even information, just patronizing. He obviously is full of it.

Very true. Guardiola has always strukc me as a humble and determined individual, and I genuinely think he's see Spurs as a great challenge that would test him. I think he wants to prove himself in management in a different way. He's already managed a top team (the top team), and won everything in club football. What he hasn't done is transform a team into winners and move them up a level. Spurs would be the perfect club for him to do that.

Agreed 100%. Pep has, apparently said that he wants a project and not just a pay packet (my paraphrasing). Well with the new training facilities, an accadenmy side that competes very well in the Next Gen cup, a new stadium in the offing and a side that is a Champions League standard, I don't see what more he would want in a project. That of course leaves out his personal desire for a year off and his salary to be sorted, but nevertheless I don't see why he wouldn't consider it.

Yes I have been marked as an optimist and it's true, I am. If I weren't I wouldn't be here now!

Especially as last week he told us that Moyes was our man and to (also patronisingly) sleep well!

Well Our TV money will double in 13/14 so it wont matter with regards to CL monies?? Although CL monies have doubled this coming 12/13 so we may just have to speculate to accumulate in terms of wages etc.

Can someone educate me on one point. If joe Lewis decided that he wanted to put in a lot of money to the Club , could he do it via a sponsorship deal at a ridiculously high rate (e.g. name the ground the ENIC Stadium or put ENIC on the shirts ) and still comply with FFP - does FFP cover the potential loophole of owners also being sponsors?

I think that Citeh's owners think that way. Apparently the £400m stadium sponsorship deal is with a cousin of the owners, but I don't know the rulles of FFP to say definitively.

As I remember he was very on the ball with sponsorship information the summer before last, and I think that is where most of his credibility has come from. Unfortunately the transfer stuff that he has come out with since then hasn't been worth a lick.

That's a bit cheeky? Some of us older fans, i'm 73, can use computers and follow the gossip and ITK information
But do you smell of wee-wee? If you do its a bad sign. My daughter has already told me the minute she catches a whiff of piss i'm being packed off to a home. That stopped me pissing in the sink I can tell you.

I think that the biggest factor is identifying the best man available to use the new training facilities. They are world class and would assist any coach in performing at the best of his abilities. We could then see the fruits in terms of the young stars coming through

I think the reason he isn't in the log is that he asked not to be.

As mentioned he called the Nelsen deal about 6 hours before the press or any other ITKs, and also the Saha deal. Lots of other ITKs said we were going to spend lots of money but JJ came in and almost apologised for saying we were getting Nelsen and Saha on free contracts.

Why the hell has pythonboy disliked this post? Ok it might have been 5 hours before anyone else.

Jeez.
