We got a ban for 1 season when we were forced to play in the inter toto and didnt take it serious, but i think with a number of first team players out a mix of the squad and youngsters would be difficult to complain against.

But i havent heard of a rule saying you need to play so many from the 25

Apparently the rule is if you have 13 players from the list of 25 available you must play

Yes, as long as you have a keeper.
But do you need to play 11 of those 13, or some of those 13 or can you just play youngsters from the b list.

Some have said on social media that Rennes will be leaving some seniors in France for their big game on the weekend - does anyone know if this is the case ?

But this isn’t how it works in reality.

In reality, it means having to play Son, Kane etc. for a load more games because our squad players are bang average. One of them will undoubtedly get injured and miss important games in the PL.

The pros of having full weeks for Conte to work with the whole team outweigh the pros of being in the competition by such a long way.

Staying in this bullshit competition is simply not worth it.

We actually have a coach again that can make our players better, the longer he spends on the training pitch with them, the better we will be in the long run.

It is how it works in reality. Conte is the kind of manager who is likely to have a quite a settled first 11 for prem matches. Binned this competition basically limits any involvement a large amount the squad will have for the rest of the season. It is simply not good for squad harmony and dynamics.

We need players like Lo Celso, Ndombele, Winks, Bergwijn, Rodon etc... fresh and ready to play if called upon. Given them competitive matches in this ECL is good way to ensure that.

Regardless, it's still a huge distraction that the management have to navigate...eating into preparation and time spent looking at league opponents.

Ndombele, Dele have proved they're not stepping up with the right attitude anyway so we cant rely on them either when it comes to league games as its clearly a mentality issue...not a lack of game time.

Given this latest news it makes eminent sense to bin this competition.

I did try to find such info earlier, because it makes so much sense for Rennes not to bring some of their best players. They won the group already, they are challenging for CL spot in the league and now covid outbreak for their opponents as well. I'll guess we have to wait for the press conference tomorrow.

Get someone to phone UEFA and ask what an acceptably weak time would be? ?

Rennes should send their youth team. Why risk getting covid for their first teamers when it's a dead rubber match for them?
