That defence is terrible and we’re gonna have to get used to it with Romero and Sanchez missing soo many games
Each to their own I think the team I suggested would be very strong defensively
Got a good mixture of height and strength with Emerson Dier Tanganga and possibly Rodon
Pace with Emerson and Reggie
Plus plenty of extra defensive cover from Skipp Hojberg and Dele
Also Kane on set pieces

Sure Romero or Sanchez might improve it, and both will be available for Chelsea

I think very defensive back 5 and PEH and skipp. That leaves 3 attacking minded players. Think we’re do well to draw. Unfortunately goes against what was said about going back to our DNA and attacking policy

Cannot understand how anyone is including Doherty in their line-ups! Emerson has had a full pre-season with Barca and was fit enough to start for them, why do we need to bed him in?
Now we have emerson and tanganga, I hope never to see doherty in a spurs shirt again, grant him his dream move to arsenal

Could mean we make a small change to our midfield, and play something more akin to a 4-3-1-2.

Tanganga
Rodon
Dier
Reg

Winks
Skippy
PEH

Dele

Lucas
Kane

Yes, this less than ideal. But our midfield will make it very hard for Palace to manufacture chances. Then, we have to cross our fingers that we can creative four or five good opportunities and convert one or two.

By far, the most important tactic for Nuno is having the team play with a lot of intensity and cohesion. So, success in this game will largely hinge on what energy our midfield will bring into the game. There is no reason I can see for us to be afraid of Palace. It's always a tough game. But we have enough quality and also a strong set-up that has so far proved to be very hard for other teams to break down. Palace will be no different in that respect.

I think the above lineup potentially changes with Stevie B is fit. Likewise, if Nuno feels that Rodon isn't quite ready to play at this level, given his injury. So, goes with Japhet in Big Dav's place, and Emerson gets a start at RB.

Can’t see Nuno changing formation, so sticking with the 4-3-3 we’ve seen all preseason and in the 3 league games.

Emerson at RB
Tanganga takes the Sanchez spot
Gil for Son
Moura for SB

least amount of change we can get away with.

I really really hope Tanganga is not dropped, i think he deserves to replace/cover sanchez as CB, tanganga has been solid and shown real steel, determination, application and desire to warrant him a spot. That being his preferred position as well, i think he will have extra desire incentive to grab the chance with everything he has got to prove himself as CB, like he has grabbed his opportunity so far already this season. ( Ideally id prefer emerson to start than doherty )

Emerson is probably more fit than Rodon. Emerson at least had a preseason and a match with Barça

Start Markanday
I would love to see him atleast given a bench spot and maybe 10/15mins of game depending on if we have a bit of a cushion. The lad has skill and talent, he has bulked up recently too so hopefully he can have a test of his strength on the ball to see if he can cope at PL level.. if he can a very decent future prospect. Crystal palace are always one of those teams that utlise a more rough and though approach rather than tippy tappy football.

Kane Moura
Gil
Dele PEH
Reguilon Rodon Dier Tangana Doherty
Lloris
We probably would be a better team with Emerson playing over Doherty, but I doubt he starts having had so little time with his new teammates, our system, the Premier league, and not speaking the language.

Can't see that we are going to change formation, not sure why there always people who talk about us playing 5 at the back !

Because with the players we have available a back 3/5 makes sense
In a back 4 Tangana and Dier will be exposed aerially, while its risky debuting Emerson at RB

in a back 3 adding Rodon will help aerially, and even adding Davies will help some as he's used to LCB

while there is less defensive pressure on Emerson as RWB

Sure we lose a forward or mid, but as long as we keep the ones with goal/assist threat that's a good swap

Hojberg Dele Gil Moura and Kane gives firepower
or if ready Ndom for Gil does the same
