I’m hoping he has been impressed enough by Tanganga and Gil to give them one last shot before making a decision on their future.

I don't think Conte will be too impressed with Gil after that match unfortunately. He looked too weak especially against a Brentford team that will come out on the front foot and really push us around. Especiallly when i can't think of a single player from them that went out to the world cup. They will be fresh and pumped to play their first minutes in a month

Had six players at the World Cup, none of whom progressed beyond the group stages.

If Lloris is back I think he starts. He is our club captain and will not be physically tired. Only concern is mental freshness but an experienced player like him should be fine.

Surprised if we see anything else, particularly with Sanchez being made captain last night and Davies potentially still not being 100%

Can't wait for one of our LWB's to be ready so we can see some Doherty-Deki magic. Honestly think they'll be fantastic on the RHS second half of the season.

I could honestly see him starting with White in that False 9, and maybe even Gil, but it's a coin flip.

TBH not the worst thing in the world to have Son/Kane come on for the last 30/35 mins if it's needed. Also not a bad shout for White to get a start because essentially we'd be matching Brentfords 3-5-2 and would even up the midfield.

This is probably the toughest game to prep for due to the WC and our injuries, you'd have to say Brentford is probably more well equipped.

I can’t imagine Kane does not start. The friendlies were for players not in the WC who needed a bit of match fitness. Kane is back in training and I expect he will start on Monday.

There is nothing to suggest he won't. I was just thinking that he played pretty much every minute of our games up to the world cup, then pretty much every minute of the World Cup, plus his penalty miss, he might have needed a rest.

There is nothing to suggest he won't. I was just thinking that he played pretty much every minute of our games up to the world cup, then pretty much every minute of the World Cup, plus his penalty miss, he might have needed a rest.

He has played 5 games in the last 6 weeks. If it’s a mental block, that’s not going to be solved by coming off the bench in one game.

I know and it was only a thought as I think sometimes a mental rest can be as good as a physical one. He may have only played 5 games in 6 weeks but I can imagine the intensity of a World Cup is pretty insane.

The point of my post was more that I think we might see a curve ball somewhere in the line up, White in for Kane was just an example given that White played as a false 9 in all three of our friendlies.

I am sure Kane will start, as will Son and everyone else who was at the World Cup, bar maybe Lloris and Romero.

Exactly. Rashford played last night!

Rashford was also on the bench for most of England's games and didn't miss a high pressure pen.

But as I have said above, I am sure Kane will start, it was just a thought about something slightly different and unexpected as part of our line up.
