You know as well as I do that football doesn't work like this :D

Even with a full squad available it's a tough fixture to be honest. We've always had a better 11 than them when going to Selhurst Park and have almost always had a really tough and tight encounter.

Yeah that's fair but I feel like that regardless if Son is starting or missing tomorrow I guess was the point I was making, we still have enough quality to get a result if we're on the top of our game. I'd expect the game to be awful either way but Son missing isn't an excuse to not grind a result.

Yeah I do see what you're saying. I only questioned it as I personally don't expect a win tomorrow but I definitely share your feelings in that we certainly still have the quality available to get a good result even with all those players out :)

We may have won our first 3 games, but bar Citeh, our CM has been good whilst creating hardly anything

Lloris
Emerson Japhet Dier Reguilon
Hojbjerg Skipp Ndombele
Lucas Kane Dele
Where desperate for creativity

Cannot understand how anyone is including Doherty in their line-ups! Emerson has had a full pre-season with Barca and was fit enough to start for them, why do we need to bed him in?

Official site team news so unbelievable vague. Was dreading a Twitter big Son injury announcement after Nuno presser but nothing thankfully. Wouldn’t even surprise me if Son is involved.

I'm not too worried about Son missing the Palace game, its a hit but Bergwijn or Gil should be able to fill in vs them.

Son will be massively missed in the Chelsea game though. We need his top-level speed and quick shooting to manufacture an edge vs them.

I would give Bryan the start.
Bergwijn had ice on his leg after the midweek game. No need to risk him when Bryan can play.

Lloris
Tanganga Dier Rodon/Davies
Emerson Skipp Hojberg Dele Reggie
Kane Son/Lucas

Strong at the back, 1 0 or 2 1 to Spurs
If we go 4 33 think score draw
Subs Inc Gil Markanday and any other good attackers available

That defence is terrible and we’re gonna have to get used to it with Romero and Sanchez missing soo many games

So with the latest team info, I'm going:

Lloris
Emerson - Tanganga - Dier - Regi
Skippy - PEH - Dele
Lucas - Kane - Gil

According to the team news on the official site, Nuno said this, "We have the absence of the South American players and the absence of some players who arrived with problems from the international break."

Based on his other comments and images of Skipp training, that means we will be missing Son, Berwijn, and Sessegnon IMO. I just hope Son and Bergwijn are fit for Chelsea, forget Rennes.

So whenever I've done this, I try to simultaneously predict the team (from what we've seen so far in the pre-season and in the season) and give the XI I want to see out there. The formation may not be what we see, but it is what I would do.

Lloris
Tanganga Dier Rodon Reguilón
PEH Skipp Dele
Gil
Lucas Kane

Bench: Gollini, Doherty, Davies, Royal, Ndombele, Winks, Scarlett
Give Gil a more free role and rely on PEH, Skipp, and Dele to outwork Palace's midfield and protect the back four. Tanganga and PEH/Skipp mark Zaha out of the match. I'd bring on Ndombele for at least 20 minutes but no more than 30 min. and maybe Royal and Davies to see out a one goal lead and change our formation to a back 3 if needed. There's enough creativity and goals there IMO to nick a 0-1, 0-2, 1-2 and get out of there with 3 points.
