Let's be honest most of us have been to games live whether we predominately watch on the TV or not and we all know deep down it makes little difference in terms of our knowledge of the game. Anything to the contrary is just insecurity about what a fan you are tbh.

If you're training to be a scout then sure I bet you study to learn what to look for when going to a live game but that knowledge comes from the training and learning what to look for at a live game, not the game itself.

I used to sit by plenty of fans who went week in week out, every game home, away and honestly most just complained are shouted abuse at our own players and chatted so much shit about what was happening on the pitch I would be pressed to say they understood football in general, let alone had some incredible savant type insight from going to watch every game live.
