I just don't understand what we're doing with set pieces. It's such a basic thing to fix and improve on and we just aren't. We're legitimately dreadful at defending them and not much better at the other end. Until Ange realises he fucked up with the assignments for who's training what and fixes it there's no point even turning up. We're just throwing goals away, it's like a handicap before the ball has even been kicked.

Set piece coaches need to be shown to the firing squad. It’s unnaceptable. We could all see the issue the first time at the stadium so why the fuck did we let it happen twice. Yes the players can address things themselves but this is on the coaches. Unforgivable.

2 weeks prep and still have no clue at set pieces. I actually see the players and keeper look confused by the arsenal players flooding the far post. I wish the commentators would stop saying we're playing well. Defending is a massive part of the game and we look woeful. Ange has to fix it or we will ask questions in a year (he deserves time no doubt). As for attack we keep stopping and allowing arsenal to get back behind the ball. The score is a disgrace in all honesty and likely to get worse rather than better. It's not the lack of effort but quality and tactical intelligence we are lacking most. I was worried about seeing Davies and Hojbjerg starting this and lo and behold they are both involved in us going 2 down.

Never a foul, vicario is the weakest gk in the league so he either needs to bulk up or we protect him more

Why do we, or any team, do zonal marking on set pieces. I’m no tactician but I’m pretty sure that for years, analysts of the game always lament zonal marking and highlight the deficiencies of it.

it makes sense, having a running start gives you forward and upward momentum…ergo, more likelihood of physically winning a battle. It’s simple fucking physics

I'm not. I have however had the same concerns now I voiced in November.

He has to adapt or he will 100% fail, and he's showing no signs as yet of changing.

I'll give him another preseason to change things up but if we are still conceding over and over by zonal marking going into next season I'll be calling for his head.

It's been an even game. We haven't played badly at all. Just 2 pieces of crap defending at corners and a schoolboy error from Davies allowing Saka to turn inside. And is it any wonder Sweden's top flight clubs have voted against VAR? It was never the intention when it was brought in, for it to be used in the way it has evolved. Ruining the game for fans everywhere.
