If Davies if fit I would be tempted to start him. Bar Ndombele the rest are/had been playing ok. But a bit harsh on Dier who did have a good game.
Bit harsh on Dier but I think we know his ceiling, whereas Rodon we need to be better than that and this will only happen if he starts playing now.

I hope Aurier never plays for this club again.
Why, no disrespect but Sterling is world class, hard to judge yesterday but compared to Doherty, Aurier is far superior.
At the moment, he is our best RB.
AT least, he could finish off the season and certainly start against Sheffield United.

I disagree. I would rather Tanganga that a player who doesn’t show no fight and has too many brain farts.

You’re probably not wrong but to say he hasn’t stolen a living while he’s been at spurs is simply wrong imo. The guys barely played in 8 years and when he has he’s only ever been an average player.

You are correct though, I would have him playing over most.

I see your point. But injuries are not the players fault, neither are the new contracts they're offered by the club.

I'll also politely disagree about only ever being average, but I can understand why you/others think it. I think he brings something that pretty much nobody else in our squad does. A genuine desire to compete & make things happen.

But we all see different things in different ways, so opinions will inevitably be different, too.

I'm able to admit that I probably like & appreciate Lamela more than many of our supporters do. And my opinion is probably clouded by the appreciation that I have for his desire to fight for the club more than most of the players on our books.

The lad gives a shit & I just personally like that. But I can also appreciate I'm very much in a minority with my opinion, and do acknowledge & accept people thinking the exact opposite to myself.

All of that said, I appreciate you giving a polite & reasoned response. (y)

Lloris
Tanganga Toby Rodon Reggy
Hojbjerg Ndombele
Bale Dele Lucas
Kane

Hart, Sanchez, Dier, Aurier, Winks, Lamela, Gio, Son & Vinicius

Sonny needs a kick up the arse so I'd bench him, Sissoko shouldn't even be on the bench and we need to see if Dele has a reaction from the start now that Jose has gone.

I don’t think anybody disagrees with you on that, I think where some of us struggle with Lamela, certainly I do, is that his end product is lacking, and not for lack of ability as on occasion he does something splendid, but through his own mentality. Lamela is more ability than the majority of our squad, you don’t pull off some of the skills that he can without it, but he causes so many moves to break down not because he’s a bad passer, he’s not at all, but because he makes bad choices (usually to hold onto the ball too long).

I actually think Lamela was trained as this inside forward coming off the right because he has skill and a nice left foot, but he’d have been far better off of someone’s had stuck him in the middle, coaching him on his awareness, and created a very good all round central midfield player. Ifs and buts, but his strengths would’ve been maximised and his deficiencies mitigated in my opinion.

One thing I will say is that our 4231 never moved better than with Lamela in the front 4 as he did a lot of the work of the two players behind him.

I think Toby and Dier did well on Sunday, so I’d stick with them in the team.

Hart
Dier, Sanchez, Davies
Doherty, Winks, Sissoko, Aurier
Alli, Lamela,
Vinicius

I would stick with that for the rest of the season. The best from the rest will get a new contract, the other 10 will be sold.

We need continuity at the back so it’s Toby and dier for me , IMO the best pairing we have , only 5 games to go so no more experimenting. I would keep aurier and Reggie, peh lo celso and lamela , Lucas bale and Kane .
Son ndombele Bergwyn to come on if we need them

Call me naive, but until top-4 is not attainable I would pick the best players available and let the next manager sort out next years squad.
Agreed, and not just too 4. We don’t want to miss out on Europa. I wonder though if given the failure of players on Sunday to follow instructions and Mason’s knowledge of the youth set up he might be tempted to freshen things up by blooding some youngsters.

It’s slim pickings with the best youngsters on loan or injured, but maybe given how off his game Reguillon is Cirkin could be worth looking at? Unfortunately I don’t see a Bentaleb in waiting in midfield which is where we really need some youthful enthusiasm.

They have to play those who next year could continue and form a team.

Lamela and Bale I think they will leave, as will Dele, Winks, Sissoko and Dier.

Lloris
Tanganga
Rodon
Toby
Reggie
PEH
Lo Celso
Ndombele
Lucas/ Stevie
Kane
Son
