Call me naive, but until top-4 is not attainable I would pick the best players available and let the next manager sort out next years squad.

Spot on team!!

Basically same 11 as Sunday other than Bale for Lucas, and Tanguy for Winks.

How do you figure? Several games now Lucas has been better than Son but yet you want to retain Son at his expense. Contrary to Mason's and Mourinho's team selection, Son is off form and should have been rested. His cup final performance is a testimony to this. In my opinion if we had had Lamela Bale and Lucas from the start, and benched Son more than likely we would have won. Dropping Son is not a knee jerk reaction on my part as I have been saying this for several games now. (I know you did not mention Son but you implied he would be in your starting 11)

You’re probably not wrong but to say he hasn’t stolen a living while he’s been at spurs is simply wrong imo. The guys barely played in 8 years and when he has he’s only ever been an average player.
