I actually thought we are started well enough. Had control in midfield and Ndombele Eriksen looking to instigate and move the ball on.

Unfortunately, this team massively lack a spine and 1 long pass and we are all over the place. Since then we've struggled to get a stranglehold which is probably because Ndombele went off.

I'm not sure what we can do from here as our options are limited. We have to chase the game so bringing on defensive players will make it harder to get at them.

There's talent in the squad, make no mistake about that, but after 2 failed title tilts the hunger has gone.

It's like they've looked at Liverpool and City and thought 'What's the point?'

Its not even the defence thats shit atm, its our creativity, even the 2 goals vs Norwich were from set-pieces ..., shows how shit we can be without Son

The defence is shit, it's just more apparent with no protection in front of them and a complete lack of threat going the other way to hide it.

That might the worst half of football yet. Aimless and lethargic. No energy, little creativity, despite a midfield ostensibly full of constructive passers, attackers largely isolated and possession generally wasted.

There are predictable gaps in the defence, but that's not really a problem of today, it's down to injuries and personnel. Our midfield has been dire, really clueless. For much of the half, they've been outfought for the loose ball, but even when we do get a bit of possession, all anyone can think to do is to wait a few seconds, looking in vain for an unmarked player, and then hit a vague aerial ball that inevitably goes to the head of a Southampton defender.

Where's the passing and moving? The switching of play? The balls outside and then back in? The movement off the ball? Southampton are well organised and in good form, but no one is even trying anything ambitious - aimless lifted balls straight up the pitch appear to be the limits of our collective imagination.

Ings' goal was very good - we'd be impressed with Dele if he showed that skill - but our central defenders were too far apart and it's not as if there was much craft involved in creating the chance.

I’m more than happy to give Mourinho a season to bed in his ideas but this continuous lack of cohesion is damaging us significantly

The whole squad is so stale. No effort. Kane and Dele not jumping for headers. Verts and Toby looking very slow and vulnerable. We need to go back to basics - start tackling for starters. Moura is an impact sub and should not start. Dele needs to work harder for the team. Kane needs to run the channels like Ings is for Southampton. Eriksen needs to actually put his foot in once in a while. I think Levy must now realise he needs a total overhaul of a squad that has been fairly static for 5 years. When is the last time we outworked our opponents? Total shambles.
