Does anyone honestly believe that Sabitzer would swap Nagelsmann for Mourinho?

  • UEFA Cup
Chelsea

  • League Cup x3
Inter Milan

Apart from Porto, Mourinho has only had success when he's had a lot of money to spend. As we won't be getting any gate revenue for a while and we are not in the CL, I suspect we'll be shopping in the bargain bin this year. Our rivals are buying players like Werner and Havertz and we're being linked to Doherty and Eze.

He's very good manager so he's getting money to spend. As every manager.

They are still very good players in positions we need, which I'm not sure can be said for Chelsea

Doesn't he primarily play on the RW? I don't imagine he would come in unless he is a guaranteed starter.
I do see a bit of a trend here with targeting Sabitzer and Brooks who both primarily play on the right wing but can be shifted inside just as easily.

Let's look at some data to inform that decision ...

Trophies:
Mourinho = 2 x Champions League, 2 x Europa League, 3 x Premier League, 3 x La Liga, 2 x Serie A, 2 x Primeira Liga, 1 x FA Cup, 3 x Spanish Cup, 2 x Spanish Super Cup, 1 x Italian Cup, 2 x Portugese Cup, (4 x Worlds best club coach)
Nagelsmann = None.

... but it is not just about the respective managers, after all Naglesmann may leave himself next year. What else is there to consider in terms of the respective clubs...

I won't count team trophies as Red Bull Leipzig, like their manager, haven't won any major ones. Ever.

Stadium Capacity:
RBL = 42,959
Spurs = 62,214

Highest Paid Player:
RBL = 88k euros per week
Spurs = £200k per week

In all seriousness, I know Naglesmann is a great coach, and in all honesty I'd probably have preferred him over Mourinho last November. But there are lots of reasons for the player to want to come to us, probably the last stat above being the most important one.

I think that for every player coming into their prime as Sabitzer is right now Mourinho would be better manager pver Nagelsmann.

Some seem doubtful 'cause he's too good for us to sign or something, but outside of the obvious not going to happen links to megastars, we often have signed the decent players we've been linked with. Lamela springs to mind; he was highly rated when we signed him and a bunch of people here were adamant we had no chance, one of Europe's hottest properties, no way does he come here and so on. Granted we could splash the cash then 'cause of the Bale sale in order to meet Roma's demands. However, maybe Ndombele leaving is the catalyst for this. And Tanguy himself, so many were certain we had no chance, he was destined for Real or City, he aint coming to us, no chance he does a 'sideways move'. And even Lo Celso in the same summer. So I think I will wait and see with this one, would be a great signing if we pull it off, though of course it would be sad if Ndombele's departure is required to make it happen.

I he's a good player, great character and great energy. However I think he is very industrious. I am loathe to lose N'Dombele but with him gone we only have Lo Celso as our creative talent and he isn't really a flair player. The trend continues from Poch to Mourinho in our lack of "spurs" players in our teams.

Yeah but he scores goals and often very important goals . Capable of scoring double figures in a season .?something winks sissoko dier and probably ndombele are not capable of

Will Nagelsmann be still his manager at Leipzig in a years time - I cant see it.
So when manager could change his plans, player could change clubs as well.
Its all comes down to how much interest there is, from us and him.

I’ve said all along that I hope Ndombele comes good, but to replace him with Sabitzer, well, yeah, I’d take that.
As said on the previous page, Højbjerg with LoCelso and Sabitzer in front of him is a bloody good midfield three.. Winks in rotation. Nice.

Add coutinho on loan for one year, with lamela/ndombele out, and wilson , aurier upgrade ; that's too good to be true :/
