It's on the Brum webside, chairman basically saying that Keane asked for too much do-re-mi and too long a deal.

How long is his contract with us? And while I will accept "too long" as an answer, a number would be appreciated

We signed him back two years ago I think it was on a 4.5 year deal, so I think he's here till summer 2013

I have a theory that Keane has been ruined not by Benitez or age but by his wife. I wonder if she is running the show now? His troubles (the Liverpool transfer) even started on his honeymoon!

Harry's "he just wants to play" doesn't really square up with Keane not being able to move anywhere because of his wage demands! I'd imagine Keane would rather be playing anywhere than sitting on the bench for an extra £10K a week!

I was told yesterday that he will join West Ham as soon as Martin O'Neill becomes manager.

Allegedly that is what Robbie Keane himself told a friend of a friend a couple of weeks ago.

Actually, at his stag party, and possibly when Random started substituting him practically every game.

is keane the type of player you want in a relegation battle? and he needs good players around him with good passing and movement for him to be effective, i think it would be a terrible buy for hammers in their situation. he needs to be in a passing team with good technical players, thats why he shone with carrick and berbs in the team. hammers dont have that.

i hope your right though because its like the bentley situation, we dont want high earners like that sitting in the stands most of the games adding very little. wonder if sparky at fulham will be interested now santa cruz has gone back to blackburn

That thought entered my mind as soon as the news that MON was taking over from Grant came up.

Well now MON seems to have lost interest in the Spammers, our Robbie is truly screwed if that was his plan. Where now for RK?

If we cant sell Keane, Harry may have to go back on what he said and maybe say ok we will loan him out and at least get him out and some of his wages off the book  that is if we do sign a striker or two

From Eurosport :

Robbie Keane: "We'll see what happens. The Birmingham thing was never on in first place so it was very strange to see that on Sky. It was never going to happen. I've not heard anything from West Ham at the moment so we'll just see what happens. The Birmingham stuff was a bit bizarre, the statement coming out from them I found a bit strange as a deal was never really on the table. Birmingham were looking for a bit of publicity I think."

When asked if he'll still be at Spurs in February, Keane replied: "I'm not too sure. There's a couple of weeks left and we'll find out then." As we reported, he scored twice in that friendly with QPR this afternoon.

Robbie Keane has told Sky Sports News that a deal to Birmingham was never an option for him.
The 30-year-old was a transfer target for the Blues

who had a £6million offer accepted by Tottenham.
However, Birmingham released a statement on Monday which indicated the player's excessive wage demands had scuppered any hopes of a deal.
But a bemused Keane

said: "The Birmingham stuff was never on anyway, so it was very strange to see that stuff on Sky yesterday in the first place.
"It was never going to happen."
West Ham have also been linked with the Republic of Ireland

international but he maintains he is unaware of their interest.
"I haven't heard anything at the moment but we will just see what happens," he added.
"But like I said, that Birmingham stuff yesterday was a bit bizarre with a statement coming out from them which I found very strange.
"A deal was never really on the table, so I just think that Birmingham was looking for a bit of publicity really."
However, it would seem that the former Leeds and Liverpool

striker is destined to leave White Hart Lane this January, and refused to say if he would be at the club at the end of the month.
He continued: "I'm not too sure; we will have to see what happens. There are still a couple of weeks left, so I'm sure we'll find out by then
