According to reports this morning, if they finish in the CL places they have to buy him. So fingers crossed they have a good season because if they do, then he won’t be coming back!
Sounds a very odd arrangement though. CL qualification would mean Napoli have guaranteed income to pay his wages/transfer fee etc but he could have a terrible season end up on the bench or not in the squad , Napoli could still qualify for CL without him playing and get lumbered with buying him, why would anyone agree to that.

I suspect that is why the obligation amount is low at 13m, if it was at 25m, the deal wouldn't get done.
13m is cheap if he has a good season, you could argue it either way.

I suspect next summer we will be cancelling his contract and paying him off like Aurier.
It wouldn't be the worst thing ever although if Napoli had that idea then they'd clearly hold out and negotiate with him as a free agent.

Assuming he had a good season, the balance of probabilities though is he will be dogshite.

True the fee is low but still looks like a financial risk for Napoli , how long a contract do his agents want and what sort of salary, if all those websites on player salaries are true then Napoli pay way below some of Spurs wages.

Still. If the buy option is deemed too high by the buying club, they simply won't trigger it. Much like Lyon with Ndombele this spring.
I don't see a downside to a buy side option provided we set it at a level we're happy with. Given the asset in question, and the fact we've been trying to flog him all across Europe, if it gets triggered its a bonus. In my opinion, best case scenario he has a stormer and they deem the option good value or, they don't but as a result of said stormer his saleability has gone up. If he doesn't have a stormer and they don't trigger a buy option, we're no worse off than just a "dry loan".

Don't see how people can deem it a negative given this particular scenario with this particular player.

I think it’s a good deal all considered. £3m is a low loan fee but probably set that low to offset them agreeing all or a substantial part of his salary. We’ve been badly stung on this but it happens to all clubs (Man Utd do it every year it seems) and it’s best for all parties to move on now.

I suggested on here months back he might go for £15m. someone said no-one will leave for less than 20m. So I’m currently winning the Internet.

does it strike you as strange his agents are negotiating personal terms, since it’s a loan and I thought someone would just have to pay what he’s due in the current contract? Spurs should be negotiating who pays what…?

Maybe they're negotiating terms in the case of the option/obligation being taken up

Not unless Spurs are contributing to his salary. If Ndombele is prepared to accept less from Napoli let his agents get on with it.

So we reach the Champions League final in 2023 and are playing Napoli , as Napoli are mid table the only chance they have of qualifying for CL is to win the final which would force them to buy Ndombele.
Hmmmm.
Yeah I'm not sure anyone's hate for Ndombele is so much they would sacrifice a CL to see him gone
