We shouldn’t swap our 23 year old, massively rated box to box central midfielder for either a 29 year old Brozovic who is only going to go down from here or Skriniar who has fallen out with the manager because he prefers 3 at the back. If it was 35m + Skriniar so we can buy a replacement for Ndombele then sure but there’s nothing to be gained from a swap deal with Inter. Just doesn’t match up for us.

I hear you. But if we get Skriniar, we should (at least in theory) be able to sell Sanchez and Foyth - which then would provide some funds towards a #10. Obviously easier said than done though.

Just wanna make sure that this (edit) from @Trix wasnt missed by anyone this morning:
I said a month a go TN was a goner, that looks to be almost certain now. Bids for both him and Aurier, and shifting those two clears the way.

Good, just hope we reinvest sensibly.

Brozovic is 27. Google told me that.

So there's been a bid for Tanguy?

I wonder why Jose decided to work with him during lockdown if he's been "refusing to train properly for months"? Im surprised Jose even bothered to do that if Tanguy has showed him such disrespect in training (in front of the other players).

My dream move would be selling Ndombele and replacing with Van de Beek. Like for like and Van De Beek is a top character and leader. José and he would click immediately

I think Van de Beek will have better suitors than us

@Archibald&Crooks (rightly) closed the daily ITK thread as folk ignored the Trix info and discussed formations etc
Not exactly one in one out, but we need to shuffle the pack to make room. Non HG is an issue, making it more like a Soduku puzzle than just filling in the blanks.

DL has one eye on another potential lockdown(many experts saying it'veey possible) happening in the winter, and another large loss of incoming revenue. We are trying to maneuver in such a way that should this happen, we will feel as little impact as possible.

Outgoings are always an issue for us mainly because DL tries to extract the absolute maximum out of every one. We usually get it, but it takes a lot longer to happen. I said a month a go TN was a goner, that looks to be almost certain now. Bids for both him and Aurier, and shifting those two clears the way.

Still expecting at least 2 in and likely a 3rd

May be Jose really wanted Tanguy to shine at spurs at any cost ..

Who has fallen out in a similar way that Ndombele has. Nobody is doubting the talent of either but the fit. I’m saying that there isn’t a deal to be done with Inter - thats the point of my argument.
Why?

The truth is, everything is saying we want rid of Ndombele. If we don't trust Tanganga or Foyth to play many games at CB, for whatever reason. We probably need another CB. Rumours throughout the window indicate we would quite like another CB. Skriniar would be the absolute best we could do in that position, and still young and developing.

If we want to get rid of Ndombele, the deal makes sense. Maybe there is a better deal out there, but right now Inter seem the most likely option and a player of Skriniar's quality doesn't get offered to you like that very often.

We trust Tanganga. When he was healthy under Mourinho, he was playing in major matches. We could use a developmental CB similar to when we signed Foyth a few years back. We have 4 solid center halves at the moment and the longer they played together, the better they got.

But for what position? At CB or RB?

Jose clearly would like another CB, even if it's not a priority, I suspect either we get two RBs, though this might come from within the club as well. Or we need another CB, because we are short in that part of the pitch, particularly considering we need two functional defences as we will be playing with completely rotated line ups at parts of next season.

I'm not saying this is what I would go for, it just seems to be the case, it looks like we are keeping half an eye out on the possibility of a CB. Seemingly much more than we are at an attacking CM which seems to be the suggestion of who we should go for. It depends how we play, but against Ipswich we experimented with a double pivot, and a more direct transition between attacking players and deeper players, by creating space through width, so maybe Jose doesn't see the need of a linking midfielder as much. But rather creating overloads in both boxes and just transition very quickly between the two.
