A waste there. Having Sissoko and NDombele in midfield will destroy any team there.

Not really a waste out wide though. Ndombele and Winks can control the middle whilst Sissoko totally owns the entire right hand side of the pitch.

Sissoko could definitely do a job there but I doubt he would he want to play there long term.

Playing at FB or WB takes a lot of learning. It's absolutely crucial that the player has a 100% understanding of defensive responsibilities and positioning as well as total communication with the other defenders. It's extremely naive to think you can just bung a player there because he can 'get up and down the flank'. We all saw the result when Son played at LB v Chelsea in the Cup. Absolute shambles. To add to that, Sissoko was abjectly bad when he played in a wide position and only made a huge improvement when he was pulled into the middle. Ridiculous idea IMO.

Why put our player of the season imo in a position where he’s never played?

Maybe to experiment and try and improve the team further? Why move Dier from RB/CB to DCM in 2016/7? Why move Sissoko from a wide right midfielder to a deeper CM in 2018/19? Same reasons.

For the record, I wasn't saying that we should move him out there, just that it would not be a waste if we have Ndomebele partnered by a fully fit Winks in CM.

On a couple of occasions last season Sissoko effectively ended up playing as a RB and was awesome. But then he was generally awesome most of the time. I cam even recall games where he played CM and RB at the same time!

He was awesome because he was covering Trippier but that doesn't make him a RB. Trippier has played RB his whole career as far as I know, and still struggles with the discipline the position requires - hence why Sissoko was always bailing him out.

We shouldn't be looking at players who can 'do a job' there. It's a key position in Poch's system and we need a new first choice specialist right back as a priority

May I add that nothing has changed about our RB signing,
Thanks for the update Herc. After hearing who our main targets are, RB is the spot I'm most concerned about. Aarons would be amazing, but it sounds as though Norwich aren't entertaining offers. Or if they are then probably asking for £40m.

Foyth will be a star playing RB I've no doubt, and will likely rack up AWB-style defensive stats. What would be nice would be to get in a dedicated RWB with end product to give us some width. Again, Aarons would be perfect. Fingers crossed for some good news on this position.

Post update
Venezuela 0-1 Argentina

Venezuela winger Darwin Machis is going to have nightmares about Juan Foyth tonight.

The best game I have seen the Tottenham man play. He has had a stormer at right-back.

I think we might use Foyth at RB and spend elsewhere.

Still think we should sign Aarons, sell Trippier, Keep Aurier and sell him in Jan to china after his 4th hamstring injury, he has too many muscular problems you can tell he's just going to suffer from constant muscular injuries. Then you can have Foyth/Aarons contesting but keep Aurier as a safety for first 6 months.
