Not sure where else I should put this, but just happened across a post with the full match of us away to Arsenal in November, 2010. What a team this was - so fun to watch: Bale, VDV, Modric, Crouchie, Pav, Lennon, Defoe etc. Also Gallas' return to Arsenal, and as captain! This team (and this game) really announced us as players in the Prem, and marked our ascendancy to the Champions League.

And just so this is on topic, check the 50th minute. ;)

That was the year that things really changed for us. You’re right, what a team! Was so good to watch...

Just watched our goals. I was watching that at my ex's house, they were all Gooners. :ROFLMAO:

Watching training clips and looking at pictures it's clear he is a popular figure already.

Hes such a mega star. I dont think he'll start on Sunday but I might cry tears of joy if he does.

Just seeing Bale training and with Kane in the same shot and seeing the graphic on Sky Sports News advertising us vs West Ham with Antonio being showcased for them and Bale for us, it just still feels a little surreal to me!

We’ve come a long way.

They read out the starting xi for us on Bale’s first debut (Man Utd away, 2008) on a podcast I listened to and it made me realise how much we’ve bridged the gap in quality between ourselves and the biggest/richest clubs in the league.

We had Ricardo Rocha and Anthony Gardener as the starting CB partnership that game.

How on earth did Tony Fracking Gardner last 8 seasons with us!

All these media clips I've seen from training today (ok there are like 2 but whatever :cautious:) and the thing that stands out is how fucking happy Bale looks.

Yeah absolutely. It's like when people look down on our period under Poch just due to not winning any trophies and as 'small-time' as some may like to say it sounds, going from where we were to challenging for Premier League titles and reaching a Champions League final is massive in comparison, even if we didn't win them.

Looks like the squad morale is super high. Bale looks happy again, everyone is joking around and it looks like he’s in the middle of it all, can only bode well for our season if we can keep the momentum going from before the international break. I’m weirdly optimistic so I am partially expecting us to be relegated.

I just prey this isn't a David Haye style comeback where he steps into the arena, gets a few knocks and reality hits home that his days at the top level are done...?
