The benching part is more so about his fatigue. He has played nearly every minute since the restart. Have we not learned over the past few seasons that Kane will tire down then get hurt? Then we rush him back to 90 minutes as soon as he is healthy and we repeat.

Why not bench him when he is playing bad and we want to try mixing up the attack? Fans scream for Son/Lucas/Winks/Sissoko to be benched all the time. Why is Kane immune?

Bench him for whom?

Despite him being tired and not playing up to standard he's still our only world class player.

He didn't play well against Newcastle, still got 2 goals.

Do you actually want to win matches? lol

Like I said, he turned it on in the second half against Newcastle. Do you want Kane injured 6 months again?

We need to buy a striker of course but Son, Lucas and Bergwijn could play 3 up front for a game to rest Kane. Heck, even for a half to give him a break.

His absence has nothing to do with him burning out though, he picked up injuries because he's turned his ankle 5 times.

I agree we need a backup but that's a different argument altogether, we don't have a backup thus yet hence he needs to play and even when we get one he's still going to play the majority of matches anyway whether he's having a bad game or not.

The number 201 is coming to mind.

If he had been benched for this match we would have drawn yet another game - fantastic.

We can't afford to bench him. It's not just his goals it's also his creative skills. His passing and ability to bring in other players into attack can be quick and incisive and not to be underrated.
