Newcastle United (NU) are looking to record their first Premier League (PL) double over us since 2015-16, following their 1-0 win at the our home in August. They have lost just 3 of their 17 home games in the PL this season (W6 D8)m- the last time they lost three or fewer home games in a PL campaign was in 2011-12 (3).

Miguel Almiron has been directly involved in 2 goals in his last 3 PL home games (1 goal 1 assist), as many as in his first 19 PL games at St James' Park combined. Dwight Gayle has scored 3 goals and assisted another in 5 PL appearances since the restart in June, after failing to score any in 12 top-flight games earlier this season (1 assist).

We have won 4 of our last 5 PL away games against NU (L1), more than we had in our first 19 visits to St James' Park in the competition (W3 D5 L11). We will be looking to record 3 consecutive away wins in all competitions against Newcastle for the first time since 1975.

No PL team has won more games after conceding the first goal this season than us (4), with our 2-1 win against Arsenal on Sunday being the latest. We have lost our last 3 away PL games on Wednesday, one more than we'd lost in our previous 13 such matches (W9 D2 L2).

In his PL career, Jose Mourinho has managed more games without wining at St James' Park than he has at any other stadium (7- D3 L4). He has lost more games there than any other away venue in the competition.

Son Heung-min has been directly involved in more goals in all competitions under Jose than any other player at the club in this period ( 9 Goals 8 Assists)

As I said in another thread, our results since the restart has not been as bad as I thought. We have Won 3, Drawn 2 and lost 1. The disappointment is who we lost to and who we had drawn against.

11 points out of a possible 18.

Won: West Ham, Everton and Arsenal
Drew: Man Utd, Bournemouth
Lost: Sheffield Utd

Had we beaten both Sheffield and Bournemouth where we should have, we would have 16 out of 18. I was glad for the draw against Man Utd as I had expected us to lose.

Now that we have Newcastle, followed by Leicester and Palace, it is in our hands to win these games as all 3 are winnable.

I have watched Newcastle recently and they have improved a lot under Bruce, but if we concentrate and play to our capabilities, we should win.

Seriously considering painting a wall and watching it dry instead of tuning in for this one.

We'll have more of the ball because the Bar Codes won't want it. Which will mean that we'll still be doing a lot of sideways passing but we'll be doing it further up the pitch. I've predicted 0-0 because we're fairly solid in defence and they're pretty toothless, but their bus will be parked. I'm hoping that we play some decent stuff and demonstrate a strategy to score but I'm not holding my breath.

CM was still weak, but it gave us more space. We managed to stretch the back line at times by having some width down both wings so we didn't just have a mass of players in the center.

I’d like to let Harry sit this one out. Regardless of Europa or not we’ve not got much left to play for and I’d much rather nurse him through this period so that he’s fit and ready to go next season. We’ve got to be so careful with him and fatigue having come back from the injury that he had.

After umming and ahhing I've decided I want Europa League next season. I can't see Jose ever getting the chance to blood some of our youngsters without it, I think in the long term it will be much better for our squad than no European football at all.

Plus when you include the likes of Sessegnon, Parrott, Skipp, White, Cirkin and possibly even Clarke I don't think our squad is that thin that we can't cope with both PL and Europa, especially if we get a few more bodies in.

Come on Spurs, let's get a rare away win on Wednesday.

Reckon Tanganga is a cert to start after the sad news about Aurier’s brother. Might be a blessing to have a bit of pace from a more defensive minded player up against Newcastle’s main threat in Saint-Maxim. Not looking forward to this, but if we get a win feel it’s us set up really well to get a Europa spot. Just a matter of seeing out last three games and aim to finish as high as possible.

I'd like to see Sissoko at RB to match Saint-Maxim's pace. Sissoko isn't the fastest but nobody seems to get around him easy. This is a match Spurs seem to lose. After a big win, we are favorites and it's on the road. A win here would show great character in the squad but I see a draw most likely.
