RK is, and always will be, a fine player who gives his 'all' for THFC and (if you open your eyes) has been a true servant to this club. Defoe is a great player but not fit to lace Robbie's boots....if you take your Anglo Sun specks off, for a moment (on an all rounder basis). However it is not a 'mine is bigger' situation. BOTH has shown their quality, no doubts, but I (personally) prefer the honesty of RK and his LOVE for this club. Sadly, he is not being loved back....but....this is life....Can you imagine how WORLD CLASS RK would be IF he was English? The man is a genius, in any league....and a move to Celtic would be our loss....but you never know what you have until you loose it? REPENT Sinners:bowdown: haha!

Please note, the post above is also available as an audio-tape for the hard of thinking.

Bingy, it's not often i agree with you, but on this occasion i think i might be on the same wavelength... not entirely sure, so lets err on the side of caution and i'll just neg-rep you and move on

(i'm kidding, it's Bombers turn to neg you next i think, then i get another go after that)

KEEEEEEEEEEEEEANOOOO!!

The thing I like about Bingy is that every single one of his posts is edited. So he's obviously written something, looked at the result, not been quite satisfied and gone back in, re-written - possibly two or three times - then sits back, chewing the end of a pencil probably, scratching his nose, giving one more good , long thought about what he's posted, and then says "Yep, that's spot on. That's just what I want to say."

I like the original post. It helps me put some others I have seen recently in perspective...

That is a very good point and the fact that, when you edit a post it asks you for a reason for editing, i would imagine all previous edits are available to someone, somewhere...

I bet that's a hilarious folder

I got to there and then gave up.

Keane is a fine player, and what he has given to the club can not be questioned.

But its blind love for Keane that you think he will always be a fine player.
You dont know what he will be like on Wednesday let alone next season. He could well re-discover the form he had before he went to Liverpool or he might just go to pots.

Only things i can judge him on are what he has done for us (and he is a Spurs Legend) and what he is doing for us now (not as well)

Good idea for a thread. I'm surprised no-one had thought of this before.

You are not watching. He is a yard slower. You are not watching. He continually makes immediate excuses for poor play to the fans. You are not watching. His legs have gone.....he no longer get 'there'. You are not watching. His form is consistantly down on last season and he fears physical contact. You are not watching. He doesn't merit a start at Spurs anymore. Your blind faith in Keane leads you to denigrate our top scorer and present most effective striker. None of this should diminish what Keane did for us in the past but he is not what we need right now:whistle:

Hmmmmmm, Keane vs Defoe?....

Okay, Keano has the reach advantage, but Defoe has the speed. We all know they both put about the same roadwork in, but it's got to be the experience and great combination work from Keano for the edge. Defoe is not patient enough and Keano will go to the body early,... Keano by TKO in the 7th.

If we dropped Defoe then we would really struggle to score goals. But both players are different types of forward. Keane is more of a link up striker where Defoe often plays on the last defender. Both compliment eachother well, but we often need the big man Crouchie to assist one of them. All 3 offer something different. Hopefully we replace Pavlyuchenko soon, because if we're not going to use him in a game like Hull, then we really need to get someone else. Someone who offers something a bit different than we have. Ruud Van Horseface for example.

Do you know what guys.... I am going to have to totally disagree I use to be one of his biggest fans but I think this season he has been very poor. I think he has moaned more than ever I think his finishing has been poor. Take the couple of his chances against Hull, if that ball would have dropped to Defoe would he have missed?? I know I am going to start a big debate but I honestly feel if we could cash in for 6-8 mill, Pav for about the same and then maybe get someone like Rudd in for 18 months get in the champ league and then attract some real quality.... The way to look at it is, would Keane get in the Liverpool team? No. Would he get in the Arsenal team? No Would he get in the United or Chelsea team? No..

Defoe had a good understanding and success together with Pav last season, allbeit a short time. Defoe works much better with Crouch than Keano. Keano had a great understanding with Berbatov, but he's gone. Keano has had chances, but is suffering from the old striker's snakebitten curse when not scoring regularly... he could have easily had a pair of goals last game, but he didn't. I would be surprised to see him start Wednesday, best of luck to him

You're right... teams that have featured such forward talent as David N'gog, Daniel Sturridge, Mame Biram Diouf and Niklas Bender over the past season wouldn't dream of playing Robbie Keane :)

Robbie Keane was great, in the past. He's been off form for over a year now. Where as Defoe has been in form for the same period. I know who I'd pick, and it's got nothing to do with nationality.

It was definitely my turn to neg rep.

Anyway, keane is a more than fine player, I'd go as far as exceptionally good player.

Like Defoe is too.

During the Hull game it dawned on me, Defoe doesn't look as lively without Lennon on the pitch. I wonder how many of Defoe's goals have been assisted by Lennon?

I think I can recall four. Either way, the link up between them on the right side has been proper bo' I tell thee.

I can't believe this turned into a 2 page thread, let alone one that's vaguely stayed on topic too!

I think that, right here, is a perfect place to take a break - i need a distraction
