Why is there always the assumption (misguided, in my opinion), that the manager isn't fully briefed by the board & chairman on transfer developments! WRT a new forward, how do you know its not Mourinho who's said, "no, we'll wait then", when presented with unfavourable alternatives?
Of course he would be briefed, won’t stop him being pissed, just like Poch was. And refusing unfavourable alternatives was something Poch has been bashed for since.

Ok, I'm going to come out of the closet, I have never liked JM, never will. I was happy when he got sacked from Utd, not just because they were in the poo, but because him and the circus he brings with him were out of the premier league. Yeah, he will probably win us something in the next 18 months, but do I want to pay the price of listening to his egotistical mutterings or his lies, his style of play and eventually leaving on some huge pay out, I don't think I am.
He has been the same at every club he has been at, all smiles etc in the beginning, but eventually the mask will slip and we will see the real Jose. I fear what the club will be like when he does go, even if he brings us some shiny things.
We will see what legacy he will leave, but a bit of my Tottenham soul died when he was appointed.

Because we were in such a great state when Poch left?

I'm actually yet to see any facts that Poche was "pissed" as you've so eloquently put it. That's all here say, much as we're suggesting here. People don't actually know for certain, just following their agenda

I get your points and concerns on Jose for sure but mate we’ve been crying out for the kind of manager who will get us over the line to win something for years.

I think with the right players we can still play exciting football albeit a less possession based version than we were used to watching under Poch, but if over 2 season he wins us an FA CUP I’ll take that all day long because the game is about winning and with our new stadium training ground etc we just now need a trophy to get the monkey off our back so we can kick on.

I also disagree he will leave us in a mess, there may be a fractured relationship between him and the fans or a few players by the end of his tenure but our squad and recent recruitment shows that if Jose walks in say 2 seasons time we will still have a squad littered with young talented players and if anything he’s already helped bring the squad harmony to a way better place than at the end of poch’s tenure by getting toby to sign a new contract, Eriksen and Rose now out the door.

I don’t like everything about Jose especially the style of play but I like how he says it how it is in the press conferences and I like that he’s a winner and I don’t buy that he leaves all his clubs in a mess, numerous former players of him speak so so highly of him, some have been seen crying when he left their clubs, sure he has some negative points but at this point I think he’s exactly the manager we need and would like to stay positive and get behind him and the new look partly re-built squad.

we do however need a bloody striker, even Jose can’t work miracles.

COYS, chins up.

The differences between Jose’s tenure at Chelsea and Manchester United, and Spurs is that at most of his previous ports of employment he has inherited egotistical players with player splits in the changing room, players playing for themselves. At Tottenham, he has repeatedly praised the spirit and togetherness of a squad used to working as one, bar the odd renegade, and honed in teamwork by Pochettino.
He took nine months out to do some soul searching and analytics of his strengths and weaknesses so that his next tenancy would not repeat previous mistakes.
So far, having succeeded Pochettino midway through the 1st half of the season, he has had to cobble together teams which had no right playing with the tactics employed, but he will have been promised a very long overdue overhaul and we see in his 1st window, the beginnings of his vision for Tottenham. Next summer will be the major surgery. Enjoy the ride.

Being linked with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on sky sports so if true is a positive sign that Jose is identifying what is needed in squad (I think he’s a defensive midfielder, although only stated as a central midfielder on transfermrkt?).

Am I the only one thinking ( and hoping ) that JM will be here much longer than his usual 3 years and move on.

I think he's always had his eye on us, he seems to have a soft spot for us and I think he'll enjoy it even more now he's a part of it.

Our club has great character, fun traditions that are deeply engrained in doing things the right way. Anyone who doesn't admire how we got to where we are through efforts completely within our financial means at a time where clubs need to compete with oligarchs, princes, kings and states taking over are short sighted. Look how these cronies have effected self sufficient teams like Arsenal and Man U etc.

I think Jose wants to prove a point by winning and doing it in a flamboyant and fun way. I think he likes that challenge and the longer this season goes I think all from manager down to the fans will embrace it and feel that merging. If we can satisfy Jose off the field I think he'll be very happy at our club. It's in London, it is an unpolished gem of a club and it's about to come into money that is fun to spend if and when we want. We have the tools if Jose has the strategy, I think he'll be around for a while.

Who cares?

Jose's first 3 signings at the club.....Gedson, 21 loan with permanent option, Lo Celso, 23 permanent deal, Bergwijn, 22 permanent.

Average age 22, total out of his budget for all three internationals that represent Portugal, Argentina and Holland as it stands..... £55m. So far it looks far from a manager who will be reckless and leave us in turmoil.

Only 2 signings

Lo Celso is not a JM signing .... he was always going to sign, no one pays a 16M loan fee .... it was clever savvy business acumen to get the overall price down as betis would have to pay PSG 20% sell on fee, but you dont pay anythng on the loan fee, only the remainder circa 23M we paid to betis.

Mourinho would have given the go ahead on the option to make Lo Celso permanent 100% mate. If Jose didn't want him then I don't think the deal would have got sanctioned.

Yes it was packaged in a way to save Real Betis some money but he officially became a Tottenham player this month and that go ahead would have come from the guy who picks the team. The same applies to Gedson if he does well but Jose doesn't last, the new manager will ultimately be the one that sees his permanent signing eat into his budget.
