I'd rather watch Jose Mourinhos press conferences than have to sit through some of our games.Thats not true but I do love JMs preview pressers. They are real.

José Mourinho is looking for #thfc to sign a right-back, centre-back, central midfielder and target man this month. [The Times].

Good luck with that José!
Levy: Ah, so we are also looking to move on a right-back, centre-back, central midfielder and target man this month - I'll be right on it!

Actually if we loan/sell KWP, Foyth, Eriksen, and Parrott this month - each individually a real possibility - that will be Mourinho properly Levied. He wont be asking for any more players any time soon.

If we dont sign anyone I dont think JM will toe the company line. He will just say they never asked me I dint think he will make excuses

JM knows he has a slight get out cluase, hampered by injuries, crucial ones like hugo but now Siss and main man Kane , and not being able to replace to help team.

Also he seems to be having one repetative comment now, players too tired not able to train.... look at lcfc, wolves, sheff utd, scouse etc... their players giving much harder effort and desire than our players, they still not tired or atleast and not looking so completely out of shape and lacklustre at all.

He will moan or through in veiled digs/attempts to say we didnt/couldnt invsst etc ....

I dont agree with that I think he has been honest
Is it fair he takes responsibility for where we are?
I dont think he has to. The real situation is where Poch left the situation and the signings the injuries not really on Mourinho

Poch didnt leave this like this. He knew and always said he needed to rebuild, end of one project beginning of another. We are two windows behind in my view.

We are stale, old and slow.

Poch didn't leave it like this but it's his managing that led to that point isnt it?
Or we can do as usual blame everybody Levy the players the ref ,the fans Wembley, the lasagna etc....

When you play crap teams and you dont show up it's the manager. If one player doesn't show up it's the player but if it's pretty well the team then it's the manager. Poch but also JM.

I didnt say Poch wasnt to blame partly for it, as ive said all along he was partly to blame. Levy, Wembley lack of funds are factors though and huge factors that he had to overcome.

People are trying to pin this on one man whereas I see it as a failure from several and factors that affected us. I was willing to see this period out and give Poch time but no point in giving someone time if something else exists that would prevent anyone else from being a success.

Ill give this time, ill see what happens say a year from now and between now and then id hope for a few ins and a few outs and Jose to get us back to winning ways but at the moment lets be honest its stale as fuck.

Good post. I wouldnt blame it on one man either but I do believe Poch lost the plot. For me it was terrible management of our footie last season even though our league position and CL final were acceptable. The football itself was ugly for the lost part. That was Poch more than anybody.
This season we bought some players and although injured to a point,I felt he had no idea how to move onto a more front foot game (a la Liverpool) that it seemed he wanted.
No it was predominately Poch. We had more than enough quality players to win games against the minnows but slow build ups, lack of imagination and no energy was a fixture with us. It wasnt all the players.A lot was Pochs negativity.

I so want Mourinho to do well. Nobody is perfect but he is a good guy. And he has been dealt a harsh hand with the state of the players when he arrived, the club ownership he has to work with, all the bloody injuries, contract situations, even the fucking Amazon documentary.

Prove them all wrong, Jose, and pull a rabbit out of the hat today!

He said in his press conference that he was going to be happy and didn’t want to talk about Kane as it would bring the mood down. So what have the papers done? Gone with headlines like “Mourinho’s mood darkens after Kane injury”. He said yet they went with it anyway. Sometimes a manager just can’t win. Apparently he went into the press conference trying to portray a good feeling and if you watch it, it’s pretty positive from him. But of course they go with the negative.

I’m so fed up of hearing about doing things differently. £96 I had to pay for a ticket the other day.

the thing we do differently to other big clubs is win nothing.

sorry think I’ve woke up on wrong side of the bed

We pay the most expensive tickets in the world

I dont expect us to be the best but i expect us to compete (in the words of Poch) but to compete you need to improve year on year.

they even did that on the football daily podcast. They even played the clip of what he said and then said well mourinho is clearly not happy. No shit Sherlock and he said not to talk about it :D

Yeah really feel for Jose he’s inherited a dismal situation. He must have known before he signed though.

I do have this tiny tiny bit of faith though that levy wouldn’t have signed him without having to acknowledge that JM would request new players. I mean hiring a manager of his stature and personality seems like club suicide if you aren’t going to back him..... But this is levy we are talking about.

I have faith none the less. Think with some carefully picked players we will see a resurgence in the squad as we have a good backbone to build on. If we don’t act quick though that strong backbone won’t even be up to standard.

No one made you buy it .
You pay what you feel provides value.

Maybe you can still sell it and not moan.

It’s quite obvious. If we don’t invest heavily into the squad then we all have to accept atleast 5 years of potentially mid table finishes. I don’t believe we will get anywhere near top 4 for a long long time unless we change our ways.

We have a squad filled with ageing and bang average footballers and ultimately the good ones will leave if they do not see progression.

I hope though, due to the fact that levy appointed Mou, that we will change our ways but that’s just my optimistic side clutching at straws.

We have had it good for a few years, now we are going to meander along for a few, maybe until ENIC find a suitable buyer.
