I'm a member of a few Spurs forums and a few other forums not dedicated to the mighty Tottenham Hotspur. On every single one of those forums I have never seen a thread quite as shit as this one.

Either you're a WUM or one of the worst, ficklest 'fans' ever. If it's the latter wise up or go and support someone else. This is the start of something special, but only if AVB is given time and support.

But yeah, once again, shite thread.

personally i understand how TS feels... the way we played in the 1st half, we really didn't expect this in the 2nd. still too early to be pushing the panic button, hope AVB gets the right feedback from his team. a couple of poor decisions that cost us the win.

hopefully we can bounce back in the next game.

Not very long if I'm being honest (not many on here will admit how fickle they are). Avb failed at chavski so he has a short window to prove that he can cut it in the premier league in my eyes.

Edit: didn't read the thread in its entirety. Stupid to call for his head now. If we are still winless after 5, ask me again.

Exactly. So it goes either of two ways. Either AVB turns Spurs into a quivering jelly of a squad with a few sparkly bits but no confidence and I get to say I told you so to all the knobheads who want to come into a thread and call it dumb, or AVB turns it round and gets us to a respectable level based on our purchasing and proves me wrong.

I wasn't at the game today but if I had to pay 40 quid to watch that sort of display every week I'd soon consider not investing more money in supporting such a strangely run operation. I am highly suspicious of the board's recent activity re Redknapp and some of the transfers taking place and AVB's credentials in the Prem. Why talk about winning the league when we can't beat West frigging Brom?

I wanted Arry to stay but Levys ego put to that.

Now AVB is here I will support 100%.

Levy has let him down transfer wise mind.

He needs to sort it out now. If avb wants Moutinho, let's get him in.

So, two games in and none won, yet we are 1 point up on last seasons opening two.

How long will you wait before you start calling for his head? Or am I knee-jerking?

Fair question IMO.
I will not call for his head. He needs a chance to prove himself, but this was a massive gamble by Levy.
Once the transfer window is closed we can judge AVB fairly. Harry had some dodgy games to his name as well: I never supported Harry's departure but let's give AVB a chance

If it's a shit thread then don't write in it you fool.

I've been here a damn sight longer than you on SC and I've seen plenty worse.

AVB is a bit like Ramos in his second season right now for me and there's nothing fickle about worrying about that.

I'm not fickle if I support Spurs but don't respect the manager.

Something special? I'd love it to be something special but right now it's something scary.

Trouble is, last seasons openers were against the eventual champs and runner-up.

I can't help but be exasperated by our defending at the moment and how we seem to be so nervous and unable to score despite having so much of the ball.

I'm almost saying AVB out in fact - he doesn't seem to have the ability to create the necessary drive so far and think he might have bitten off more than he can chew with so much to prove.

How long will you wait before you start calling for his head? Or am I knee-jerking?

You sir are the jerkiest of knee jerkers, I nearly didn't reply because your post is so ridiculous but I couldn't pass without letting you know that !

Do you honestly expect him to get two seasons?

No, I think thats part of the problem. He wont get it.

We have made our bed now and we should lie in it.

From Levy's view he has appointed this man as manager so he should have 100% faith in him to do a good job...if the fans get on his back and he's gone in 6 months what does that tell you?

Its bullshit to be perfectly honest...the exact same thing happended with Ramos.

We need stability, we need to create something bigger than making top four for a couple of seasons and the only way we are going to do it is if a competent manager gets appointed and ingrains his philosophy and personality on the club a la ferguson or Wenger...with Levy there I wonder will this ever happen?

Mate you feel free to post the question!

As it happens I wanted him gone as soon as Levy employed him.

Armchair managers - football is a simple game, Redknapp brought us exciting football, previously average players playing with motivation, Champs League football, even being discussed as title challengers in a season!

We have thrown all this away so Levy can save some money, as I cannot see any other reason for it. Why fuck about "trying" to sign or sell players when the season has started????????????

It wasn't broke, didn't need fixing, just an addition or two with some fringe players moved on under THE SAME MANAGER who turned us around so spectacularly.

We will finish somewhere between 6th and 8th this season, then maybe some of you will begin to relent the ridiculous changes Levy has made this summer!

Only thing it sounds like today has shown is Defoe is of no use to us in this formation so buy someone and let him play for someone like QPR!

I'm not Defoe bashing as I like the guy but he is a 4-4-2 player which we don't play anymore!

In AVB I trust

YOU'VE MADE THAT DETERMINATION FROM TWO GAMES???

Nope. I made it from watching the preseason games in the States and these two games.

I was at the Watford friendly and it was a little depressing tbh.

We aren't incisive enough and need to get there quickly.

I saw better from the youth squad at Kingston FC.

Levy won't give him two seasons if it goes bad, no chance. Why should he, there are no guarantees a manager will come good after any amount of seasons. AVB said himself that Levy has told him top 4 is the minimum, so that is the judgement point.

If we are in the bottom half at Xmas and Levy sees the potential he will stay, when Levy loses confidence he will go.

Yep. Watched the Wham game today as well, Laudrup has a made a good start there.

Something the Swan's fans must be very proud of.

One to watch!

I guess after watching Swansea rip Wham apart I felt we deserved similar against the Baggies.

Congratulations on your full-blooded support of your club.

Apologies for having to put it so bluntly, but have you had an irony-bypass or something? You're having a pop at armchair managers while lauding the OP's armchair management opinion?

We have thrown all this away so Levy can save some money, as I cannot see any other reason for it.
Lack of evidence is not evidence of lack.

Why fuck about "trying" to sign or sell players when the season has started????????????
Until recently I would have agreed with you, but then I found out from a secret source that Daniel Levy didn't decide the dates of the transfer window. I know, I know. It was a shock to me too. I'll give you a minute or two to digest that.

It wasn't broke, didn't need fixing, just an addition or two with some fringe players moved on under THE SAME MANAGER who turned us around so spectacularly.
Sorry are we talking about the same person here? I was under the impression that we were talking about the manager who thought a point was good enough at Villa last season, and subsequently finished fourth and then were robbed of our CL place. I thought we talking about the same manager who kept mouthing off to the press. The same manager who decided to hire the utterly reprehensible Paul Stretford to negotiate for him in the week that Daniel Levy was bereaved of his mother. The same manager who seemed to lose all interest after being linked with England.

We will finish somewhere between 6th and 8th this season, then maybe some of you will begin to relent the ridiculous changes Levy has made this summer!
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not 6th to 8th. Whatever will we do??? This is the last chance we have to finish in the top four. After that, anyone who finishes below fifth will miss out on the chance to get aboard the space ship that they're building to fly to Mars and play in the Marvin Super-League, exclusively for the clubs with the big dicks. No small willie clubs will be allowed in. That'll learn you, you morons who insist on supporting your manager!
