That's fucking crazy. And please correct me if I'm wrong (because it's been a long day and maths isn't my strongest suit), but would they have been above the Bundesliga as well if it weren't for Bayern buying Kane?
Yes, i was thinking exactly the same thing. That's insane. ☝️

never heard of the guy. before the liverpool hype machine ramps up, what's he supposed to be like?
He's 30, so not a long term signing. Stats are decent, but nothing special. I don't recall ever seeing him play though.

Imagine the stick Levy would get if we went from Caicedo to Lavia to a 30 y/o we hadn't heard of.

It'll be funny if Caicedo and Lavia struggle at Chelsea while this lad kills it at Liverpool. Unlikely. But you never know and a galvanising move for a guy who never thought he'd get that chance is a nice story.

I'd really like Ange to sign Kyogo from Celtic. THe guy looks like he could make it in the PL and doesn't seem less risky than other options in the news and ITK.

Goes to show how warped the market is in favour of a couple of clubs

I was wondering whether we'd get linked to Kyogo. He certainly tore it up over there last season, but it's also the kind of league where I imagine Richarlison would score 20+ a season and he doesn't quite look like doing that over here.

Always tough to tell whether a player can adapt. I'm sure Ange has earmarked some of his players from Celtic and if he felt they were strong enough would be at least asking for them.

He must have changed his mind, otherwise why did they bother activating it?

Boehly seems like a bit of an overconfident arse hat. Maybe he just presumed Olise would sign for them and hit the PR train...

Or Olise's agent has played a blinder knowing he wanted to stay at Palace but on much better terms.

I've seen him a couple times.

He strikes me as one of those players who can be infuriating to play against. He will never be a star component, I don't think he will (especially at 30 years old) ever be someone you build a midfield around but he is someone that will just be maddingly consistent. He won't make big mistakes, he will be in the right spots and he will constantly be running and will probably do whatever he is asked.

I don't know that he is a guy that Pool put into the starring 11 but seems he could be a bit like Milner was for them. Comes off the bench, gives some energy and just does things quietly and correctly.

The Olise thing is really odd. There was talk that Palace were unhappy with Chelsea and they'd gone beyond the norm when it comes to 'tapping up' - everyone knows it goes on but on this occasion, clearly Chelsea overstepped the mark.

And that's the really odd thing; if they were willing to pay his release clause, there's no need to do anything wrong. Just meet the clause and he's all yours.
I wonder if they tried to get him to agitate for a move at less than the release fee?? Again, odd because they don't normally watch the pennies (which instantly makes me think of someone).

Intriguing - wonder if more will come out. Hopefully Palace leak some bits to the media to embarrass Chelsea!

Theo Walcott has retired from football.

Aside from the fact I wanted him to fall off that stretcher, Walcott has always spoken well and came across as a pretty decent guy.

His career didn’t reach the heights I’d have expected, but he achieved many things people only dream of.
