Yeah I know. What I'm saying is I'd imagine he would find a way to make it work.

It's more to do with playing out from the back, Pep has traditionally played CB's on their stronger sides because he wants his team to build perfectly from defence particularly when they split and have to play tight along the touchline.

The reason it is easier to play 2 right footed centre backs is because of the lack of left footed centre backs.

That means that as a right footed centre back you will have spent a lot of your development playing on the left so are more familiar with the position.

I would be amazed if Jan ever played as a right sided CB growing up but Toby almost certainly played as a left sided CB.

Tackling, passing and reading of the game are slightly different if you play on your 'wrong' side so do take some getting used to.

It is the same as a centre back playing in a back 4 for their whole career and then being asked to play in a back 5. They will do ok but might need some time to adjust.

So not a myth but just very rare.

See above. I'd almost guarantee If they sign Ake he will play LCB and Laporte will play RCB, alternatively it will be a back three with Ake, Laporte, Walker.

Laporte is a good enough reader of the game to be able to play RCB in my opinion. Plus his passing is better than average for a CB. I'm not arguing that it's rare for a left-footer to play RCB, I'm just saying that it's daft to think a good enough player couldn't do just that.

Am I alone in thinking that £35m is laughable for a guy at the centre of one of the worst defences in the league? I’d be gutted if we signed Ake, especially for that money.

We will see what Pep does if Ake signs. Personally I don't see Ake and Laporte playing more than 10 matches together at CB. Instead I think Pep will sign a RCB and Ake will be cover at LCB and rotation at LB. Only time will tell who is right.

A really hot prospect to keep an eye on will be Mohammed Kudus, who has signed for Ajax from Nordsjælland in Denmark.

A Ghanaian International at 19 years old, he has come through the wonderful Ghanaian Footballing system in place at FCN...run by the Right To Dream Academy...who was founded by the FCN Chairman!

Has moved onto Ajax for €9.5m...massive money for FCN, who can use that to invest in more talents in the future!

Kudus however...midfielder/forward, 9 goals in 21 games this season, with some assists too, very promising..will be one to watch next season!

Such a huge talent. Pleasure to watch this season. FCN got huge money for the guy (in denmark it's anyways) and Ajax was just a no-brainer for him.

I'd much rather buy Mings if we're going for a relegated CB, think he'll be great for a manager like Mourinho.

Nathan Ferguson to CP is a good choice imo. In given time he’ll be on his way to a top tier club

SSN Paper Talk:
"Chelsea transfer target Alphonse Areola has bought a house in London, with the 'keeper set to leave PSG."

He sounds like a bit of a tit

He's never really stood out to me in a good or bad way in the Bournemouth team, although I guess it's kind of good for a defender not to. Still think starting for Bournemouth is about his level

that's fair, but ive always seen him as pacy and strong in the tackle. think he'd be daft to go city though.

Having seen the players Chelsea have signed and the players they want to sign I wonder if the young players that were near the end of their
contract decided to resign because the youngsters were being given a chance . Now it seems they have gone back to signing uber players and using the sale of youngsters to fund the big buys . Hudson Odoi for one must be scratching his head and thinking " why did I sign again with the bait of being a first team player next year only for Lampard to go on a spending spree " When I could have moved on a Bosman but now I am tied to a club that just used me .

28 out on loan according to this. Surely all those players cant be happy being sent out in limbo again. Tap up Ampadu is one for me.
