It depends what you think an agent is there for. It's more than just facilitating transfers, and can be for mentoring and general career guidance.

Zlatan is still a top professional, whichever way you look at it, as per his career length and the way he's recovered from an otherwise career threatening injury at a late age.

Absolutely. Having never lived such a life it’s hard for me to imagine ‘needing’ such a figure I guess. These people aren’t complete idiots so they obviously feel he contributes massively to their career, just seems weird, especially in Haalands case. Well off, obviously talented, probably trained like a pro from a small child and given every opportunity, Dad was a pro himself etc

In Zlatan's case, he pretty much credited Raiola for making him an elite player. I haven't read the book for a while, but he was a good but not brilliant striker at Juve, would disappear from games, then went to Inter after Juve's relegation and Raiolo kept pushing him to be better, saying that none of the elite teams would want him if he wasn't putting in the effort, and I think he arranged for some ex-players to advise him on his game, and then he just got better from that point.
That's the issue with some players - they won't push themselves to be the best if there's no carrot at the end of the stick.

All the talents that has gone down the drain because they were 'to good' for their club or being advice by someone who just wanted a piece of their cake and not helping them achieve their goals. Imagine the likes of i.e Taarabt, Caulker, Boateng, Dos Santos etc. just playing their game and focus on building their talent

All down to different personality types, isn't it? Some players will self destruct regardless. Some of them could have done with an agent giving them a clip around the ear and putting back on the right path.

Seen a few clubs linked to Joe Hart. Forgot he existed.

I was thinking it's weird that his career has disappeared into a black hole, but then again it also lines up perfectly with my suspicions as to why. Quite a fall from grace!

Suspicions ?

Yes. There was a story about a player doing a naughty thing that I proposed was probably him. I think admin didn't like the idea of us discussing so wouldn't want to add any more detail, but the fact he suddenly dropped off the face of the earth at the same time makes it seem more likely.

Im offended by the lack of detail here. Inject all the drama into my veins.

Have a look at what the stories were this time last year
I can only find that he parked on a double yellow line in 2018 and was mugged by a moped gang in Turin in 2017. I doubt either of these are what you're referring to.

So we have to look at all the stories from last year to find the unsubstantiated rumour that you have zero evidence relates to Joe Hart?

Count me in!

No - there wasn't an unsubstantiated rumour, it was a big story involving an 'England player' that would involve circumstances similar to when Berahino disappeared.

You don't have to do anything, it isn't a challenge thread - it's a passing comment.
