I don't hate Doherty (or Lucas or Sanchez) - I just think we should sell.

What is with the Royal hate?

As for why I would sell Doherty before Royal - we are looking for a starter at RWB - presumably Porro at this point. Royal provides a defensive alternative - either late in games, or against certain teams. Doherty offers nothing different - just slower and more methodical.

This summer, I would sell Royal and either Spence is ready for a back-up role, or we bring in a RB that suits the manager (hopefully still Conte). But will get more money selling Royal in the summer, than trying to push him out now. Doherty does not have much sell on value now, or in the summer due to his age and limitations. But, as I said, I don't think we can find a buyer for Doherty now either - at least now one where he would want to go.

In the summer we clearly need a new first choice GK, with Lloris retiring /released and another new LCB/CB unless Lenglet improves and joins us on a perm). And all the loanees need to be sold (except Parrott) or loaned again as a last resort

Not gonna make a huge list as our targets are obvious and I’d be happy with all of them. I do wonder with the shit storm Juventus are about to enter whether a deal for Gleison Bremer could be done though? He’d be my dream CCB signing
