For the cb problem I like Ben white at Brighton. I wonder if we could do a similar deal to Hojbjerg/ kwp and offer them winks, who I think would play a lot beside Bissouma (I like him too btw)

Would also boost our HG numbers, which we need to address if we’re going to keep dier, Davies and Rodon (btw the BG rules on Davies are harsh, he’s only ever played in the PL so how that’s not HG/assoc trained idk).

ins
White
Sabitzer
ings
Celik or Aarons
With sessegnon and Skipp returning to the squad

outs
Sanchez
Lamela
Winks
Vinicius
Lucas
Serge (had ITK that he was interested in a move back to France last summer, sure we’ll agree into sell now even though he’s our best rb)

Out (this is not what I think will happen but just what I feel is necessary)

Hart (should never have been brought in)
Aurier (should’ve been sold in the summer)
Doherty (I suggested him based off his wing back work at Wolves, I regret my choice even though Josè hasn’t played him as a wing back)
Davinson (waiting too long for him to come good, cut our losses and sell)
Dier (out of his depth, that pen he gave away last night was so typical of him)
Lamela (should’ve been sold 5 years ago)
Sissoko (shoulda been sold two seasons ago when we could’ve recouped close to what we bought him for)
Winks (I’d loan him as a last chance saloon to see if he can prove his worth, I’ve my reservations)
Alli (even if he come back in and scored a few that should be used to up his price, I’d take £35m at this stage)

Ins (these are just some ideas, I’m not saying all of the below as that would be overload)

Lamptey
Pereira or Castagne
Konrad Laimer RB Leipzig
Sabitzer RB Leipzig
Ward Prowse
Tielemans
Vardy (6 years ago)
Upacameno
Umtiti
Basically a CB with pace and can pass a ball (too much to ask I know) who can cover for Toby who clearly isn’t confident in his CB partners atm

We basically need that spine again where we’ve got a solid central defence, midfield and forward line (which we already have)

thinking back to the 16/17 season that was our most complete first 11 Toby and Jan at CB, Dembele and Wanyama controlling midfield and Prime Harry up top

Going to start off this post with: WE ARE FUCKED. Just kidding, only sort of. We've got a bad manager that couldn't get a squad motivated after taking over for a manager who was apparently loved but then the players didn't love him any more, a squad that looks like they have about as much motivation as me at work at 4:30p on a Friday, and not a whole lot of money to play with. What an intriguing option for any prospective manager! Also, I preface this post with I swear to God if you utter the words "Homegrown" in response to this...

This is a hypothetical exercise which means jack shit, and is likely going to be completely wrong. However, read on! Come the end of the season, Mourinho is sacked as he fails to get Top 4, he doesn't win any trophies and we all have gouged out our eyes after Mourinho keeps the reigns until the end of the season and we suffer through what can best be described as a shitpit of football every matchday. The real benefit here is we will never know if we play attractive football ever again so who cares what happens next? Ignorance is bliss.

Coaching Hire:
Julian Nageslmann - We stand a shot here, but it's going to cost us a ton of money and if we want any shot at him, the time is now. I would have said the biggest competitors would have been Bayern (Seem settled), Man United (Oddly seem okay now even though I still think OGS is a bum) and I can't see him going to Real Madrid just yet. It'll be more about if we are worth the move from the Bundesliga now or not. In this scenario, I'm saying we get him - hallelujah, we may learn to pass and press!

Outs:
Rose (Free), Sissoko (7m), Dier (10m), Winks (20m), Lamela (10m), Moura (13-15m), Sanchez (18m), Davies (8m), Alli (35m: Loan w/ option?), Aurier (10m; Keeping Doherty for HG and switch to a better formation to suit his abilities). We've suddenly got a squad full of shit so you could make a case for many more. Total money brought in somewhere around 80m+, don't know, none of us do anymore, this is all guesswork! Don't come at me with your personal valuations, you don't know any better than I do.

Promote from Within:
Japhet Tanganga
Jack Clarke
Oliver Skipp
Dennis Cirkin
Ryan Sessegnon
We have some good youth players, I think. Nagelsmann will play young guys. That's a bonus for us because, again, holy shit our squad looks terrible and we need some energy. Young people have energy, right?!

Additions:
Marcel Sabitzer:
RB Leipzig link. Expiring contract in 2022. Versatility and bite we need. Also, I am totally here for #SabitzerHairTracker
James Tarkowski: Expiring contract in 2022 - need some PL Proven players to come in. He looks like a guy who can make a tackle, head a ball, and won't kick people while laying on the ground. These are all upgrades on what we currently have (outside of Rodon).
Wout Weghorst: Knows how to press from the front and score goals (Heresy!). Would much rather spend money on him than Vinicius (I do like Vinicius, but unless that purchase option is drastically decreased, don't see that happening). Wout is ready for a step up, he deserves it, and I feel like we could play him and Kane up top with their styles and it'd be super fun.
Nordi Mukiele: We need a RB, bad. Go back to the RB Leipzig well.
Nico Gonzalez: Bundesliga! Love the look of this guy, though.

Disclaimer: I got bored right about here so all this below is probably completely wrong.

Squad:
GK: Lloris, Hart
CB: Tarkowski, Rodon, Tanganga, Alderweireld/Dier
RB: Mukiele, Aurier, Tanganga
LB: Reguilon, Sessegnon, Cirkin
CM: Hojbjerg, Sabitzer, Skipp, Lo Celso, Ndombele,
LW/RW: Son, Bergwijn, Sessegnon, Nico Gonzalez
CF: Kane, Weghorst

Setup (3-1-4-2/4-3-3)

--------===-------- Lloris ------------------
-------- Tanganga -Tarkowski- Rodon -----
------------------- Hojbjerg -----------------
- Mukiele - Sabitzer - Ndombele - Reguilon
------ Kane --------------------- Son --------

4-3-3

------------------ Lloris ---------------------
Mukiele --- Rodon -- Tarkowski - Reguilon
--- Sabitzer --- Hojbjerg -- Ndombele ----
-- Bergwijn ----- Kane ---------- Son -----

Keep
Kane
Son
Ndombele
PEH
Lloris
Reguillon
Rodon
Tanganga
Lo Celso

Get Rid
Lamela - never fit enough
Moura - Long past his best
Doherty
Sanchez
Dier
Aurier
Winks
Bale
Hart
Sissoko
Viniscus
Rose

Maybes possibly have to keep these as squad players
Toby
Davies
Bergwjin
Ali - see can he improve under new manager

I have us keeping 9 players, 2 of which in Rodon and Tanganga are unlikely ready to start week in week out. I would keep Toby, Davies and Bergwjin as squad players, purely on the basis we have too much to change at once and they offer more than those in the get rid list. That get rid list is long and shows how much tripe we have accumulated and managed to hold on to. Bale is in there too, alas the dream return looks doomed, even allowing for JM football he looks miles off the pace and afraid of hurting himself
