@TransferNewsCen: Daily Mirror now claiming Real Madrid refused to ratify Fabio Coentrao's move to Man United. It's off.

Its utd, they will let it go through even if a bit late.

We'll still finish above them though.

Effectively free? We've lost the best player in the country and haven't created a clear cut chance on goal in 270 minutes of prem football.

It's early days but to claim we haven't lost anything and have gained is incorrect in my view.

What about those chances vs Arsenal? You don't call some of those shoots Walker had from 6-7 metres out clear cut chances?

Or you know, the two shots Soldado had that were only kept out by a block/deflection. Or all of Paulinho's chances against Swansea. Or Defoe's deflected shot that required a fingertip save. But hey, why should he let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned bitching session?

Reports emerging from Spain that the Coentrao deal to United is dead. It all depends on finding out if the necessary paperworks were completed before the end of the transfer window. According to reports, at around 10.45pm GMT (15 minutes before the end of the transfer window), La Liga announced the Coentrao deal and Real Madrid's signing of Brazilian left back Guilherme Siqueira on a season-long loan from Granada.

But both of those statements were later retracted, with reports in Spain claiming that Benfica have hijacked Real's deal for Siqueira, resulting in the Spanish giants pulling the plug on the Coentrao move at the last minute.

Things still remain hanging for the Coentrao scenario but as of now, it's not looking to go through.

I thought Real said he wasn't available? So that suggests to me he simply wasn't interested in joining us.

It was well publicised that he only wanted teams that would win trophies.

Sounds like a knob head. We weren't good enough for him.

Heard that he apparently was willing to come to Spurs....if they paid his "ransom". ManU were pathetic in this transfer window (apart from not letting Rooney join Chelski, of course), and now they're left with a Evra who knows Moyes want to replace him.

Interesting to see that he hasn't played for RM despite Marcelo being injured.

Is FC injured himself?
