My first reaction to drawing Dortmund was an expletive.. then well if there's a team they wouldn't want then it would be us, just keep it tight first game & our fitness levels & strength in midfield gives us a good chance, Dortmund fullbacks push right up the field like us, so away if we play direct on the counter they can tend to struggle with longballs.. that's how Bayern caused them most trouble earlier this season..should be a cracking game either way

Absolutely agree, but I like these articles downplaying our chances. If we lose, people expect it. If we win, we shut up several (albeit temporarily).
What I find frustrating, is people that assume we're going to lose. Have these so called 'experts' not watched us at all this year? I'm pretty sure this is not the draw they would've wanted, and with good reason.

I think the two stadiums for both legs will be rocking and with quite a sizeable audience around the world watching!

I was smiling to myself at the minute they were drawn together.. Because this will be a great draw!! European nights are meant for such match and both teams are definitely up for a high quality game!! Seriously can't wait!!

And I like how Dortmund already ran respectable articles in their site already:

And oh yes, heads are held high regardless of results! Let's enjoy this 2-legged affair!! COYS!!!

Just realised the final is 18th may. My birthday. Was a good day when we won the fa cup on the 18th in 1991. An omen if ever there was one. Same as 61 and 16 being when we won the league. Coys!

I've not felt this way since getting drawn against Madrid in the CL. I hope Lennon is not sick again. :)

So pleased we didn't get Man U or Liverpool. This one feels like a Champions League tie and that'w what we are aspiring to be so I'm looking forward to this massively.

Im really looking forward to the games. Both nights the atmosphere will be sensational. I know dortmund are doing ok to be close-ish to bayern in the german league but in fairness bayern are barely breaking sweat. If we can get at them (and we can) we can score.
Theyre decent going forward but not so good defensively. We are pretty good at both.
We have to beat anyone put infront of us to win the europa so why not now??

This is a real Champions League quality tie. We should all be happy with this as, if nothing more, it's good preparation for next year's run in the CL itself.

COYS!

Its games like this that we remember. Inter, AC Milan, Real Madrid (unlucky not to Win the home leg). Hopefully we can win.

Awesome tie. As a german I am certain to go, a ticket in the away section would be a dream. Anyone wants to reward me for my work in the goals & assists thread? :angelic:

Is that for the home leg? Where did you find that? Can't see anything on the OS grrr...

Put in application for the away leg - not holding much hope as a Bronze member but you never know...

So proud.
LOVE this...

Italia '90 was the first World Cup I can remember and Luthar Matthäus was an absolute beast.
